OK. Our sun Sol has about +23 degrees angle of declination, Betelgeuse has about +7 degrees angle of declination with respect to the Galactic Center(GC).

The 2 stars are about the same distance from the GC.

The latest estimate of the distance from the Sun to GC is 26,000 (± 1400) light-years.

So, if nothing changes in the boom, we should be in the clear, till the slower particle fallout hits as Meteorites quite a bit later.

Where did you get that information? Any idea what the time lag would be between the arrival of light and the arrival of debris? I’m wondering what our window is to set up defensive measures.
