EU calls on US to drop online gambling ban that they say breaks WTO rules

The European Union urged the United States on Wednesday to open talks on scrapping a ban on foreign online gambling companies, saying it breaks global trade rules.

The EU says it could seek compensation from the World Trade Organization because the 2006 ban unfairly prevents foreign Internet gambling sites from operating in the United States.

But it said it would hold off launching legal action until it had the chance to negotiate a solution with President Barack Obama's administration — another sign of a thaw in EU-U.S. relations since President George W. Bush left office.

How can the world STEAL the little remaining money in the USofA? Why by opening the overseas gambling gates.

The Native Americans are NOT going to appreciate that.

GOP needs to discuss having them vote Republican in the next elections.

I always said there should be a stupid tax.

you know, you are standing in front of an elevator waiting for it to arrive because you have already pushed the little round button thingy and it lit up.
Then some buffoon comes up behind you, sees the lit button and...pushes it again.

Okay, buddy, 2 bucks. Stupid tax.
You never heard of it? 4 bucks...

GOP would first have to figure out how to explain away the support of so many Republican lawmarkers -- not to mention President Bush -- for the international agreements that are making this challenge possible.

The more the Taliban try to censor the Internet and interfere with open-market transactions on it, the more commerce just moves away from our shores.
