*grin* I didn’t say that it was my own position. I merely said that it was a defensible position and that a conservation of institutions argument could be made.

Parties aren’t parties because people agree with one another - there is nothing at all interesting or special about people working together that all agree with one another. Parties are arranged so that people can work together in spite of disagreements. I think this is one of those issues. I thought it was especially one of those issues here because the person I was defending was running for a position that essentially amounted to Traffic Warden Extraordinaire here in Texas. I didn’t see a connection between human sexuality and getting all the traffic lights synced up and posting new signs since the old ones were so worn as to be unreadable.

I end up falling back on that old quote from Reagan that “Somebody that votes with me 80% of the time is my friend and ally. Not a 20% traitor.”
