President Barack Obama eats his vegetables and exercises every day and he really wants you to do the same.
From the White House garden to his picks for top health jobs, Obama is telling Americas McDonalds-loving, couch-dwelling, doctor-phobic populace that things are about to change.
Dont be fooled by the presidential burger runs. Obama and Congress are moving across several fronts to give government a central role in making America healthier raising expectations among public health experts of a new era of activism unlike any before.
Any health care reform plan that Obama signs is almost certain to call for nutrition counseling, obesity screenings and wellness programs at workplaces and community centers. He wants more time in the school day for physical fitness, more nutritious school lunches and more bike paths, walking paths and grocery stores in underserved areas.

“I dont remember getting a choice.”
You renew your contract (make your choice) everytime you accept a paycheck.
and how much of it will be constitutional?
will they make us brush our teeth too?
he means neighborhoods where no one in their right mind would put a grocery store, he will subsidize them of course
Doctor phobic? wait a minute, I thought we lazy Americans used our health care system too often... when did this change happen?
I knew you’d come back like that, just knew it!
Started work at the company I’m in with no mandate as such, now there is one. I chose to work for a non Marxist company when I was hired and they shifted the sands after the fact.
Now the jobs situation is horrible and I would have to lose all of my benefits and start over to go somewhere else that’ll probably do the same and at a much lower wage.
No, there’s hardly any choice in the matter for the consumer anymore, it is foisted on you by crook or by hook. I’ve been snookered just like almost everyone else. It’s the insurance companies and the contracts that employers negotiate. the incentive isn’t there to negotiate good terms when you can pass it on to the employee and claim that times are hard and the economy’s bad (even when it really isn’t).
Nope.
Don't believe your lying eyes anymore with this zerO-grade clown.
BTW, zerO?
Got any Peyote?
It will be interesting watching the black ghetto fatties, wean themselves off of fast food! 90% of the progressives can't cook a meal.
And I knew that was coming. That's why I added "there's a lot of that going on these days." Our area has 11% unemployment. My last job I had 6 year degrees working next to me for temp-12$/hr, no bennies, business slowed down clean sweep/whole shift. I should move, but I don't have to at the moment. I certainly don't want some "health czar" telling me I have to get health insurance and looking at my diet.
You’re right about the different climate areas. Here in Texas we have a long growing season. Mea culpa.
Tomatoes are way over $2 a pound ($2.50-$2.99) here and local garden tomatoes are several months away.
A head of lettuce is about $1.50.
Steak is cheaper than a salad here!
Fresh fruit is pretty much just apples in the fall. I hate apples!..lol.
Perhaps ‘chelle could shave a few rolls off her butt.
They do indeed. We're getting the nagging at my company, too. First year, it was "sign up and we'll take a little off your insurance premium each month. You don't have to do anything." Next year, you had to fill out the survey to get the deduction. Next year, you had to complete a biometric exam and the survey. This year, you had to do all that, plus agree to participate in whatever programs the "wellness program" deemed you needed based on your survey and exam. I'm sure the next step is tracking whether or not you're "improving" and adjusting your deduction based on that. Not me. I just refused to sign up at the start and keep refusing every year. All the time I'm shaking my head at the number of people who never saw that once they have your information the program would become more and more intrusive and demanding.
Wow, we just don't realize how good we have it down here. Even at the grocery we're not seeing prices that high! It's hot right now - 91 degrees is the high for today and we will be moving towards 100 degrees by the weekend. Just have to protect some things from the sun and keep the sprinkler going most days.
It won't really cool off until the end of September or the first of October - we will be begging for some of your cool weather in a few weeks!
I just refused to sign up at the start and keep refusing every year. ...yep. There are enough sheeple who get screwed willingly to keep the rates reasonable. IMHO, my privacy is worth 20 bucks to me.
the left hates smoking, yet the boy king smokes and blows it into their faces and they just smile.
That's true everywhere. The high carb, highly processed crap is cheap but good meat and veggies are more expensive but I have never seen green peppers in the USA at $2.49 each.
Because they want us healthy before they march us in front of that firing squad.
They (green peppers) are around that here in MN (twin cities burbs).
Beefsteak tomatoes are 1.99/lb see: http://www.bobsproduce.com/Shop/WeeklyAd.aspx
That’ll get you about half a tomato...
