I think it would be very interesting, really. I would think they would keep to themselves pretty much. None would really know their names even if they took large lecture courses and such... You’d think someone would remember a kid that LOOKED like him...
Frankly, I’ve always thought those pictures of him supposedly during that time looked like he had a “Cuban Accent” to his clothing and style... Who knows. As someone else mentioned, it could be made up out of whole cloth for all we know. Maybe he was in Cuba, and Fidel sent him to NY, and then on to Chicago with Bill Ayers as well, Fidel’s other “friend” here in the US.
There’s got to be, just has to be ONE professor, ONE secretary, somebody that would remember him.
I worked in academia. Let me tell you, the folks I worked with remember most everybody, especially the students. I’d bet the farm 1 professor or secretary would at least remember a student with such an, ahem, ‘unique’ sounding name...unless he was enrolled under a different name, which I think is probable.
