The states where the resources exist should just tell the industries/businesses to go right ahead with what they’re doing, and tell the fedgov to pound sand.

At first, I thought this was a Battlestar Galactica thread...
I guess it fracking isn’t.

Well I hate them and all they stand for. This is purely stupid.

Get ready to freeze in the dark all you tree hugging idiots. I hope you all go first in the most miserable ways.

Properly set surface casing, which is cemented well below groundwater depths, insures against contamination.

Easily enough verified with a pressure test, and a CBL, if needed. If all is in order, there is no threat to groundwater. Yep. Government run amok.

Thanks neverdem.
The push to put a widely used oil and gas drilling process under federal oversight could gain ground with a new administration in place and concerns about the development of huge gas fields in the East. Democratic Reps. Diana DeGette of Colorado and Maurice Hinchey of New York plan to reintroduce a bill that would repeal a ban on regulating the process, called hydraulic fracturing, under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act. The exemption was part of the 2005 energy bill and followed an Environmental Protection Agency report that found there was little or no threat to underground drinking water from the process.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic "I said the US would achieve energy independence, and I meant it. Once we've submitted to shariah law and are under foreign Muslim rule, we'll never lack for gas and oil again. Y'know, those who are allowed to have cars."

I live in the midst of the Barnett Shale, which exists as a major producer of natural gas because of drilling and fracturing technology.

If the federal government enforced the anti-fracturing regulation, the field would be shut down.

And Texas, I believe, would immediately tell the Feds to stick their regulation where the sun don't shine...
