He obviously disagrees with much of what Reagan stood for, and yet he still honored him and spoke highly of him.
Much? That means he agreed on somethings - please enlighten us what are they? How did he honor him - spoke 'kind' words and helped a former first lady across the stage? Big deal - it was all for political gain and IT WORKED!
Did you listen to his comments about Reagan? He mentioned selected things that he appreciated about Reagan. That doesn't mean that people are supposed to think he would have been chums with him. So what. He was gracious. He didn't have to sign on to this gig at all, so I'm not sure why you are so upset by this. Would you have prefered that Obama refuse to honor Reagan?
What do you think this is going to gain Obama with me on his next ill advised move? Do you realize how silly you sound? This gained him nothing with me, except to recognize his charitable disposition with Nancy Reagan, and to appreciate his kind words about Ronald Reagan as well this afternoon. Why does this threaten you so much?
Sometimes my fellow Conservatives, we must meet gracious behavior with gracious behavior.
Gracious behavior for political gain stinks! That is, if one has the nose to smell it. I think we went over and beyond being gracious to political thugs for many years - being PC - and look what we gained.
Obama might be appreciated by some on the right, but he'll be lampooned by those on the left too. It's not going to be a universal gain to him. Smell what? Good grief, you're way to sensitive on this.
Do you plan on going easy on Obama after this, based on his actions here? If not, why do you think others will? Are you the smartest guy in the class all of a sudden? Look, it takes nothing away from us to recognize good things when leftists do them. We're not giving Obama a pass here! We're not going PC here. We're simply acknowledging that Obama was very curtious to Nancy Reagan, and made a few nice comments about former President Reagan as well.
That's it. End of story...

I am glad Obama gave her that opportunity
Yes, she's old and destitute and w/o O she couldn't have seen DC one last time!. What a guy! /s The point is, that Obama signed on to support the Centennial Commemoration of President Reagan's birthday. Nancy, a person that loved Ronald Reagan more than you or I ever will, was able to travel to Washington, D.C. to help honor her deceased husband. As I stated before, I am glad Nancy was able to travel to Washington, D.C. to participant in something of this nature.
She hates to travel but the bait was for 'her husband's memory'. Of course, she would go. Bait? So you think Nancy sold out by going, or is it just that you think she showed ignorance by going? Which is it? You really need to compose yourself on this issue.
You need desperately to appear 'gracious' - go ahead, enjoy the moment. Being gracious is something to do when others are gracious. It's called good manners. I am just as able to review Obama's actions at this moment as you are, to criticize anything he does wrong. So what did it hurt, for me to acknowledge a kind deed?

I am NO fan of The Kenyan, but he is damned if he did and damned if he didn't on this one.
Plenty of real issues with this imposter.

Any idea what happened to the thread about President Reagan’s statue being unveiled in The Rotunda?
