They are making it easier for all of us to be railroaded and they think they are standing up for truth. They are helping to fashion the whip that Obama will use against us.

I relate the story of Senator Tim Hutchinson. He voted 100% conservative....the most conservative voting Senator in the Senate.

But he allegedly had a fling with an assistant.

This was impure so thousands of conservatives stuck up their nose and sat on their hands to "punish" him.

He lost his election and was replaced by liberal Senator David Pryor.

Senator Pryor now has a lifetime Senate seat. We will NEVER get him out of there. He will vote the exact opposite that Tim Hutchinson would have.

Hutchinson has been punished. Everyone can feel "pure" and smug.

But what votes are now being cast when judges come up? Are they votes for the babies? Isn't that the point?

It’s not a matter of FEELING pure and smug. Nice try—the old “you’re just a purist, I’m a down and dirty pragmatist.”

Look, I am arguing that both in terms of principle and pragmatism it was stupid to kill Tiller, if indeed it was done by someone opposed to his abortion business.

The Hutchinson case has nothing to do with this one—it’s a useless analogy—unless my opposition to killing Tiller was merely a matter of prissy purism.

But it’s not. It’s a matter of hard-headed realism about the struggle we are in. And hard-headed realism says killing Tiller was a stoooooooooppppppiiiiiiddddd for a prolifer to do.

Perhaps it wasn’t done by a prolifer. But even then it will be blamed on us. We lose no matter what. And drawing that conclusion is utterly realistic.

When you dial 9-11, to report a break in, do you demand that the officer that comes to your rescue be a devout, practicing Christian, faithful to all the Commandments?

Why do we Conservatives always demand that of our elected officials?

I want my cops to shoot correctly, at the perps.

I want my politicians do vote correctly.
