No good deed goes unpunished.
Yet other local Governments are asking you TO mow grass in public parks, etc...
How dare he make the city look bad and incompetent!!
Sounds about right.
I bet the city groundskeepers are union and threw a fit when they heard about it.
I going nuts right now thinking about my lawn’s extreme height (3.5 inches before I left for work...)
Wanna bet the job to cut the grass is a union job? Can’t be putting union workers out of work by volunteering to do something for free.
They should give him a medal for actually giving a %$#@ for his community.
There was crab grass growing over a side walk near where I lived, nature had taken it over. I kicked it all up and reclaimed the side walk for humanity, lucky a cop didn’t see.
sounds like the taxpayers could save money there
Live.
Connecticut has no citizens highway trash pickup like Adopt-a-Highway, because the Teamsters Union won't let them. No prisoners doing it either.
According to a police report, a witness said Hamilton was blowing grass onto the sidewalk and shredding trash in the park that had not been picked up. Police said they arrested the 48-year-old Hamilton after he refused to stop mowing and charged him with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.
In Columbus, they are threatening to lay off 300 policemen and 250 firemen unless they get an increase on the income tax. Nothing has been said about the layabouts in city hall and the people who sweep the sidewalks around the State Capitol building.
Park groundkeeper: “You can’t do that, it’s *my* job”
Citizen mower: “Well, then, do it!”
Park groundskeeper: “I don’t have time.”
Has anyone else noticed that even the smallest infractions (like this was even an infraction) are being punished with being arrested now. It used to be when I was a kid, cops lectured people on certain things.
Exactly!
We can’t have just anybody going around mowing the lawn of public grass when it gets too high.
They could hurt themselves and sue us for millions.
Here’s what we will do.
We’ll let the grass get really long, then station somebody in front of it to catch anyone who would mow it.
This is great, we can station someone in front of the person that we stationed just to make sure that person does their job right.
Then keep stationing people until everyone in the world has a job. 100% employment.
