That's the thanks they get for giving their blood, sweat and tears to keep this country safe all these years. Can the same be said of the Kennedy family? For all their flaws I would rather have any of the Bushes in the White House right now over what we are stuck with.
True...but Cheney could do a **much** better job of defending Bush than Bush can do for himself.MUCH better.
You can say that again. Let any of the Bushes talk and say their peace. It is better than listening to the socialist, windbag teleprompter.
What a healthy, adult attitude!
I had my differences with GWB. But I never doubted that he was a.) a good man and b.) loved his country.
He deserves credit for mounting the War on Terror and staying with it -- against heavy political odds. And for keeping every American's family safe for the past eight years.
The WOT was the most important single issue of his time -- and he earned a passing grade.
Nope. That's the thanks they get for being terrible political leaders, focusing on pandering, spending, and purging Reaganism out of the GOP.
His administration *did* do that portion of the job well, but that's not all there is to the mission.
His inability to walk and chew gum at the same time WRT the War on Terror, controlling domestic spending, and simply *defending* himself from 'rat attacks set the stage for the disaster of a government we're saddled with today.
He had the opportunity to deal a serious blow to the left, but he decided to go along with them instead.
Bush was given the opportunity to be a great leader, or his nation and his party. He did what had to be done with regard to 9/11, and this will drive you nuts, I don’t think that given the anger of the time, Al Gore could have done any differently. Regarding his party, he had no more interest in it than his father did. Oh, and by the way, I don’t expect the American public to get down on its knees and give thanks for the blood and sweat I have given to this nation. It is expected of all of us.
BUMP!
The Bushes have been ineffective and paved the road to Obama.
