Former President George W. Bush may finally upstage Dick Cheney this week. After months of silence while Cheney has been blasting away at President Obama, Bush is scheduled to make two semi-public appearances.

Tonight he'll speak to to the Economic Club of Southwest Michigan at Lake Michigan College. It's being billed as his first major speech to an American audience. The news media will be allowed to attend the event, but not record it. Right.

Despite being relentlessly pummeled, he will say nothing to defend himself, his policies, or his principles. That seems to be his M.O.

Sometimes one wonders if Bush was the one with the sacrificial christ complex.

That’s been another of my questions why no one cares

They are perfectly happy to simply scream, "BUSH'S FAULT!"

My dime pile is about half what it was. Maybe we could win big!?!?

Too bad the public never got to see that!

Why then didn't he show it to them? It ain't the public's fault.

George W. Bush is and has always been a coward politically.
The Democrats sensed that early on, and took advantage of that like schoolyard bullies picking on an easy target.

I wish Bush would just keep his head down and stay out of the way. About the best help we can hope for from him is a “You’re doing a heck of a job, Barry.”

I wonder if Mr. Bush will use a prompter?

I dunno ... but there will probably be a little blue sign on his podium that says "Office of the President Reject".

“Why then didn't he show it to them? It ain't the public’s fault.”

Agreed!

GW’s 2 biggest faults:

1) Spent too much money -— never vetoed a bill till last 2 years in office

2) Never let the public who he really is. He is stiff as hell when the cameras roll, not so in private!

You’re right. Nothing Bush says at this point is going to stick within anyone or help our cause now. Because of his domestic track-record, he has no credibility in the tank in talking about the economy.

Really? With the flak he took from both left and right over his stances?

That's a laugh.

Bet 0 is chain smoking on this one.

Has he set up his “time slot” to retaliate?

I really hope Bush sees this country being taken over by the Left and he needs to “speak up” by the silent Civil War in this country.

he failed to address health care...

HE TRIED! Along with socialist security, but was shot down by the demonrats and the rats in his own party!...

Yes, this is something many Republicans still today do not understand what he had to put up, the walls in the way, the leftist media 24/7.

Also he wasn't reared to have community agitator speaking skills.

I agree, Bush also has one big heart. He put no one down, said anything bad, tried to bully citizens, bring down the economy by “spreading the wealth.”

The only thing I didn’t care about was the illegal thing and that was not a ploy for votes like the Dims. It was his heart. he truly loves people. The war was sanctioned by all involved so don’t need to hear, “ it was his war” again.

The countries that are now showing aggression wouldn’t do that under GWB’s watch. 0 has made us a wussy country already.

I still think 9-11 was a test for GWB and he came through with flying colors.

Clinton’s rehab was one of the most transparent con jobs of all time. He ingratiated himself with the Bush family soley to polish his tarnished and sordid image.

I am not being sarcastic; you even admit yourself that you would like him “for once” to come out fighting.

Actually, if you are asking him to go away when he hasn't been out talking means you are being sarcastic.

Or at least it appears to me.
