Oh, fiddle-de-de! What generation hasn't thought that? As to the situations in this day and age, when has there never been threats of war, when have times never been hard, and when has money never been tight?
Why, when Gibbon's "Decline and Fall..." came out the British were certain, absolutely certain, their world was the one he was writing about.
Oh, fiddle-de-de Noah. You’ve been building that stupid boat for years, and I don’r see a drop of rain.
“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be”
32"Now learn a parable of the fig tree: When his branch is yet tender and puts forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh.
33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled.
Ignorance is soooooooooo unimpressive except in it’s cluelessness.
NO OTHER GENERATION
has seen Israel become a nation again in a day precisely as Biblically predicted . . .
That started the prophetic clock racing ever faster.
The list of other UNIQUE-TO-THIS-ERA prophetic fulfillments is lengthening and quite long already.
Ignorance of that is not a good survival trait.
I would suggest that any scholar of the Bible, would never have thought the end time was near, because Israel had ceased to be a country, however Prophecy predicted that it would be again. The 1948 partition of Palestine, started a new clock, which advanced in 1967 when Israel reclaimed their Capital City Jerusalem.
You either believe the Bible or you don't
