Sheikh Raad Salah, leader of the Northern Wing of the Islamic Movement in Israel, believes Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will try to rebuild the Jewish Temple.

Speaking at a conference organized by website Islam Online in Doha, Qatar, Salah stated his belief that Netanyahu may try to build the Jewish Temple – which the Islamic preacher called “the false temple”....The solution to “the threat against Jerusalem,” according to Salah, is a complete mobilization of the Arab world, including the religious imams, who need to act and “recruit the masses.” He asked Muslim scholars to pronounce edicts that will force “the Muslim nation and its leaders to confront their duty towards the problem of Jerusalem and Al Aqsa.”

Jewish Pentecost (Shavuot) begins at sundown in Jerusalem tomorrow (Thursday) - lasting thru sunset on Friday (the Jewish Sabbath)

Shavuot commemorates the anniversary of the day God gave the Torah to Moses and the Israelites at Mount Sini

Shavuot is also connected to the season of the grain harvest in Israel.

In ancient times, the grain harvest lasted seven weeks and was a season of gladness (Jer. 5:24; Deut. 16:9-11; Isa. 9:2). It began with the harvesting of the barley during Passover and ended with the harvesting of the wheat at Shavuot.

Shavuot was thus the concluding festival of the grain harvest, just as the eighth day of Sukkot (Tabernacles) was the concluding festival of the fruit harvest.

During the existence of the Temple in Jerusalem, an offering of two loaves of bread from the wheat harvest was made on Shavuot - one representing Jewish “believers” and the other representing “gentile” believers

We are the “wheat” to be harvested!!!!

Not saying this has to be the case for 2009 - but would be a good time IMHO

..if I understand my Bible correctly--two more temples:

The one mentioned in Daniel 9, Matthew 24, II Thess 2

And the one described in Eze 40-43

one in the present age and one in the kingdom\millennial age...

Oh, fiddle-de-de Noah. You’ve been building that stupid boat for years, and I don’r see a drop of rain.

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be”

The neopagan Roman emperor, Julian, began to build the third Temple in about 370. Work stopped either because of an earthquake on the site or, if you believe some contemporary accounts, balls of fire shooting from the foundation forced the work to stop.

Passage Matthew 24:32-34:

32"Now learn a parable of the fig tree: When his branch is yet tender and puts forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh.

33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled.

Check out Raptureready.com if you want to read up on how close we really are.

That and this site are my two favorites.

Around midnight about ten years ago, my sister was working on her computer when she heard loud, annoying static.

She said, “What is that!”

She discovered it was coming from her father’s earphones for the hearing impaired that was located in the adjoining room.

She held the ear phones up to her face for a closer look on how to turn them off. All of a sudden the static turned into the music of the Hallelujah Chorus with choir-like voices singing “Hallelujah! Hallelujah!”

This was followed by a strong calm male voice saying, “Prepare! The Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon! This is the last generation.”

Then the loud static came on the earphones again. My sister finally figured out how to turn the headphones off. She looked around the room to check for the source of the message and found that the TV had been turned off; the satellite dish had been turned off; and no radio was operating.

My sister excitedly told my mother, who was still up and working in the kitchen, “You are not going to believe this!”

She told my mother what had transpired. My mother told my sister to write the message down. She did, and still has the envelope it was written on, as well as the headphones. Shortly after midnight she called me and relayed what she had heard. She also told her pastor.

The headphones had never made a static noise before or since the message.

It is interesting to note that several later years I was led to write two songs in that same room about the end times and Christ’s return.

Oh, fiddle-de-de! What generation hasn't thought that? As to the situations in this day and age, when has there never been threats of war, when have times never been hard, and when has money never been tight?

In the end times, there will be scoffers.

"An opinion that the Temple stood south of that spot, approximately behind the present-day Western Wall, was also presented...."

There is convincing evidence that the Temple was actually built just south of the "Dome on the Rock" over the Gihon Spring.

http://www.askelm.com/temple/t970504.htm

Dr. Earnest Martin's book "The Temples that Jerusalem Forgot" is a must read for those interested in Temple history. Dr. Martin's studies conclude the temple can built freely at anytime in its original location without conflict with the "Dome on the Rock". He also presents convincing historical evidence that the "Wailing Wall" is actually part of the Roman fort Antonia that was located adjacent to the Temple.

Here's the link to the book at Amazon if interested. The Temples that Jerusalem Forgot (read the reviews).

I suspect their is more written proof of the Jewish Temple than there is of Mohamed. Roman and earlier historians have much on ancient Israel.

INDEED.

Yeah,

I suspect a lot of willfully blind and willfully deaf folks forgot about Hal some time ago.

Others of us still keep occasional tabs on his perspective . . . he has great connections in the Middle East.

Woopsie. I guess this sheikh forgot about Arafat’s talking points. Saying Bibi is going to “rebuild” the Temple means there was a Temple there before, and that is something the arabs have been trying to deny.

Ignorance is soooooooooo unimpressive except in it’s cluelessness.

NO OTHER GENERATION

has seen Israel become a nation again in a day precisely as Biblically predicted . . .

That started the prophetic clock racing ever faster.

The list of other UNIQUE-TO-THIS-ERA prophetic fulfillments is lengthening and quite long already.

Ignorance of that is not a good survival trait.

I think the one for the Millenial Reign age . . . is likely to be built not by hands . . .

An interesting issue . . .

IF SO, What would God do with the rebuilt one on earth shortly?

Hadn’t thought of that before.
