You'd be surprised! We're rapidly approaching the point where the point where the parasites outnumber the hosts. People figure they're going to be a getting check from the gov't...let the other guy worry about taxes. The kind of forced mediocrity that the government can provide is much better than what they're willing to work for to provide for themselves. It's so damned depressing!
The government will never have enough of our money. Taxes will always go up.
What's left of our freedoms will vanish.
It's just a matter of time.
Just last night I was talking to my neighbor and told him that today more Americans want a cold bowl of gruel handed to them by the government than to have to go out and cook a fat steak for themselves. It is so sad, but that sentiment is deepening in our national consciousness.
With a VAT the parasites have to pay, unlike the presently constructed income tax. But I have one question. The Constitution is pretty specific about taxation. It allows for tariffs and the 16th amendment allows for a tax on income. A VAT is a new tax that is not specifically mentioned in the Constitution. Would not an amendment be required before such a wide ranging levy could be imposed?
