Numerical order for Red and for Blue would make more sense than alphabetical for each, I think.
Certaionly the unemployment rate is higher in Obama regions .
Look who voted for him. That should answer any questions you may have.
If the stats were switched the msm flunkies would make this front page & headline news for weeks.
So some of it is reflective of the economic situation in the state, but that's not the whole picture.

In my sons workplace there were Omama fans who believed 100% that once he was elected a check was going to show up in the mail evey week and they could stop working for “these crappy wages”. These lefty’s would be in tears when he had to explain the economic reality of such foolish linking. Most were single moms or young college part timers.
Blue States are hit the worst. This surprises anyone?
Of course, if the Republican party just focused on educating the public on principles of personal property and personal liberty and personal responsibility, then maybe some voters would get a clue. But I won't hold my breath.

Good post. Thanks. The philosophical underpinnings of “you owe me”, “I’m a victim”, “tax the rich” are amped up in ‘rat/socialist/progressive/commie/criminal/plunder-the-producer strongholds.
I don’t get it. According to Glen Beck, there is no difference. That’s why we need a 3rd party - an independent candidate could peel off libertarian-leaning and secular/fiscal conservatives from the GOP (and hand Obama a landslide victory!!).

One thing I have learned is that no one ever wakes up in the morning and says "I am an Idiot!". When unemployment hits 30-40% they will start rioting looking for all the evil Republicans who put them in their predicament. They will never admit it was the like-minded losers they voted for.
In 1982, the Republicans lost a lot of seats in the house. Traditionally, this has been blamed on higher unemployment. However, I’ve read pretty convincing articles that the real reason was actually 1980 redistricting. In the senate, Republicans didn’t lose any seats in 1982. (An independent seat went Dem, and then in 1983, Republicans won a special election).

Actually I have done that on a number of occasions...but I don’t recall that it ever had anything to do with who I voted for.
