Exactly. The media made a big thing of the 'timing' and the VP speaking out, "so early", "trying to save his legacy" (which Liz also addressed on M.Joe and slayed that dragon well).... If it were the media that were targetted for prosecution, they'd be yelling like stuck pigs.
What is the most 'unique' about this is not that Cheney is speaking out, but the fact that the new administration is targeting the old one in a manner (and they would if they could) of the French Revolution. And when they now have the power to actually bring about what their 'hope and change' crowd has been clamouring about for years, it is not 'unique' or unusual that a reasoned fellow like Cheney, takes them seriously.
