I was mistaken about the Senate vote on closing Gitmo as being a ploy by Obama to have it both ways, i.e., he tried to close it but the Senate was the bad cop and would not allow it. I have changed my mind. This guy is so thin skinned that he will respond to any criticism in this way. He takes responsibility for nothing. He blames Bush and others for everything.

Now he must make this political theater to respond to the criticism from the Left. He wants it both ways again.

You are absolutely right. This speech is nothing more than a temper tantrum.

I have thought for a while that the bigger political fight will be between the Dems in Congress and Obama. That this will be their undoing. I don't think the Dems in the House and Senate want to be sidelined by this President and they must be hearing a lot of noise from their constituents.

That's exactly what the Senate was meant to be...The watcher, the realist, the wiser...countering the whims of the house and their constituents....

What's interesting is that Obama obviously thought they would go along with his "take the money" plan...and figure it out later...but they reversed it....Give us a plan....then we;ll give you the money. Congress is catching on!!

Obama can play it two ways...I have a plan or you have a plan...He likes to delegate...In fact, I'd say he's friggin' lazy...

He is nothing more than a nitpicker who has not yet, thank God, had to respond to an unprecedented national security crisis. He is crusading with criticisms based on the hard work of those who confronted great peril. He has placed legalism above the common sense necessary for survival.
