Related. Sickening.
This is how it started in Cuba.
Sig heil. All bow to the new car tsar, Dear Leader Hussein.
It’s our Baptism.....of COMMUNISM!!!
For the first time I’m actually embarassed to be an American.
If the citizens of our country can’t see where this is heading, well. This isn’t “a little socialism”. We’re heading down a hard socialist/fascist path Lord, what I would give if even 10% of our citizens actually understood what fascism actually was, instead of just knowing it as a bad name to call someone.
Countries that have gone down that path have always, ALWAYS ended up with totalitarian government/dictatorships.
God help us.
Did anyone expect anything else? No one should be surprised. If one looks at GM’s books it obviously is in an untenable situation. The irony is that I would argue that GM is worth less than Chrysler which has its Jeep and Ram lines. What does GM have besides two good models, the Malibu and the CTS? And the nameplates of Chevrolet and Cadillac. I see no real value in this company.
But I wouldn’t particularly worry. There are plenty of choices in American made vehicles. I own two, both made in Alabama and they are not any of the domestic companies. (Hyundai) There are deals to be made right now that I can hardly believe. There has never been a better time to buy a car of your choice. Forget GM. It is a lost cause. This has been a long time coming.
I can see the GM car ads now. A smiling government bureaucrat touting the Volksmobile, a tin can with an electric golf cart motor. The motto: “Close enough for government work.”
Careful, comrade, or someone will denounce you to the MGB.
Nothing to see here, peepull. Just more hope and change.
There are important issues to ponder, instead of this
ongoing government take over of the American economy,
for example:
1.) Who’s going to win American Idol?
2.) Is the liver an organ or a muscle?
3.) a. Who is Johnnie?
.....b. Why does he crack corn?
......c. Do you really care?
I might be moving to Zimbabwe soon...
While us sheeple just stand by and watch. Seriously, I don't care if you all hate GM/Chrysler cars, this needs to be stopped dead in it's tracks.
Russia no, Soviet Union maybe.
self ping for later read......
I think that there is an assumption that people will continue to buy GM products. I suspect that is an unfounded assumption.
My friend Justin suggests that since the Fed will own GM we change the name of GM to ‘Gennie Moe’ (a la Fredddie Mac, Fannie Mae, etc...)
I think it fits.
This is just so sad... Chevrolet has always been my favorite brand (except for Ford’s Old Mustangs). My parent had a ‘72-’74 Monte Carlo — such a beautiful car - bluish-silver, with blue leather on the back part of the roof/side, blue velvet interior with the woodgrain dash panel....
So sad that this is happening. Don’t even know what to say anymore...
I wonder what the count is now on how many jobs have been lost simply due to Obama’s meddling in NON-GOVERNMENT PRIVATE INDUSTRIES?
What, The Kenyan wasn't answering his blackberry?
In the case of Chrysler (and the same model will probably apply to GM) we will have a government business model 1) for selling cars people don't want, 2) making cars that aren't profitable, 3) with dealers that are harder to find (cuts dealerships by 50%), and 4) for which no one knows what they are selling because the advertising budget was cut in half. Sounds like the US Post Office.
Hell of a deal. It is about as good a business model as that for the proposed nationalized health care modeled on a system that will be broke in 5 or 6 years and that has an unfunded liability of 38 trillion dollars over the next 75 years.
Is this a great country or what?
I will never buy another GM car. NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
