Easiest way is to ask them, “Are you a police officer?”. If they lie, it’s entrapment. If they respond with “Do I look like a police officer?”, they are.

True in the ‘80’s — supplanted by case law in the ‘90’s. Cops can deny they’re cops right up until they show their ID and tell you to put your hands behind your back.
