Pelosi's Fancy Footwork (WaPo turns on The Queen)

Nancy Pelosi is a woman of many talents. Yesterday, she performed the delicate art of backtracking while walking sideways.

Pelosi's Fancy Footwork

Pelosi: Bush Team Misled Her on Waterboarding

The speaker of the House had just read a statement accusing the CIA of lying and was trying to beat a hasty retreat from her news conference before reporters could point out contradictions between her current position and her previous statements.

"Thank you!" an aide called out to signal an end to the session. Pelosi walked, sideways, away from the lectern and, still sidling in a sort of crab walk, was halfway to the door when a yell from CNN's Dana Bash, rising above the rest of the shouting, froze her in the aisle.

"Madam Speaker!" the correspondent called out. "I think there's one other question that I would like to ask, if that's okay."

"Sure, okay," Pelosi said, in a way that indicated it was not okay. Pelosi had no choice but to sidle back to the lectern.

We’ll see if the sharks smell blood in the water. Personally, I doubt it.

If they see Pelosi as an obstacle to their left-wing agenda, you can bet the sharks will be out.

It’s always inspires confidence to have trouble finding the lawyer-written, lawyer-reviewed, lawyer-approved sheet of paper that expresses, in lawyerese, your personal recollections and most heartfelt sentiments.

In that case, yes. One thing for sure - if 0 thinks she’s in the way, Rahmbo will take her out, one way or another.

Bob Beckel was at it again this morning warning the Repubs that if Cheney keeps it up, the Bush Administration will be exposed for all it did. What, Bob...keep the country safe??? Geraldo told the Friends that this whole Pelosi scandal is the Repubs’ fault. Gretchen shot back—hey, she started it!

Dana Milbanks wrote this story. You better believe the sharks smell blood. I think obama's put a hit on her. She's toast. We saw earlier in the week when she interrupted obama while he was making a statement to sing his praises and offer worship...she was clearly trying to save herself. She failed.

It’s actually not good to get rid of her just yet. It won’t change anything in terms of The House anyway. This acrimony directed at her is being orchestrated by her party to get her out of the leadership position for one reason: it’s Republicans who can use her to their advantage in 2010. The left knows this, and they want her out. At this point she’s good for Conservatives to use as their Whipping Girl.

She underminded, degraded, insulted, back-stabbed and did everything in her power to destroy President Bush. She wanted him to be investigated. She better be on her knees praying the same thing doesn’t happen to her highness (let them eat cake) Pelosi. God doesn’t sleep.

I was saying the same thing to the King this morning as he arrogantly appeared on my TV screen. Watch it, Barry.

Will she be giving another press conference today to clarify remarks that needed clarifying from previous press conferences that she scheduled to clarify remarks?

I do hope so!

When is someone in a position of power going to call for Speaker Pelosi to step down?

Let the Dems do it...Geraldo is already blaming our side for what I don't know.

The article wasn’t the voice of the WaPo. It was from one of their conservative columnists (their only conservative columnist?), Dana Milbank. The paper didn’t endorse his viewpoint — merely allowed it, probably as part of a contracted syndication.

It’s interesting to see how the tables have turned. I seem to remember the media discussing how Obama would be the one having to bow to Pelosi and her supposed hold on power in Washington. It looks like (hopefully) her addiction to power may have brought her down this time.

I don't care who asks Speaker Pelosi to step down, it would be better if a democrat asked first, but I don't see anyone leading the charge.

Wow.... that’s a truly vicious article.

It really is. You can almost see the contempt dripping off every line.

Rahm is pulling the strings behind this one. Remember, when he was in the House, she was his primary adversary within the party, and she still it. With her out of the way he will have his own person installed as speaker.

So Geraldo thinks the Republicans made Pelosi’s mouth utter four different stories in less than three weeks? What a tool.

I guess Karl Rove's powers know no bounds.

Hey, Rove probably forced Geraldo to think there was treasure in Al Capone’s vault 23 years ago.
