Nancy Pelosi is accusing the C.I.A. of misleading the Congress regarding "waterboarding."
Bob Beckle is currently defending Pelosi and agreeing with her on Fox.

Pelosi said she subsequently learned that other lawmakers were told several months later by the CIA about the use of waterboarding.
“I wasn’t briefed, I was informed that somebody else had been briefed about it,” she said.

"Briefed," "informed," "told," "made aware," etc., synonyms and semantics.
She declares that at least one other person (NAME PLEASE?) in her circle knew within several months of the fall of 2002 briefing that water boarding was then being or had been used.
By her account, she received this knowledge sometime between late 2002 and "several months" into 2003--let's make the math easy and say mid-May of 2003.
It is now May of 2009.
2009 - 2003 = 6
She has known this for six years but not said anything until now because? . . . She sat on this knowledge through how many election cycles because? . . . Does she not realize what she is saying confessing?/s
Accusing the CIA of lying to congress AFTER screwing their operatives by releasing CIA interrogation tactics. She must think she is bulletproof (politically speaking). Plus there is a powerplay going on lead by stenny hoyer who is trying to submarine queen nancy. hoyer is a obamtron. Guess who will win that one?

Not going to happen. Simply for the fact that a large number of CIA officers are potentially facing legal action. What's the incentive to cover for Congress while they lie and send you to prison? To advance your career? Oh, wait, there is no incentive.
Congress is trying to frame the (ironically, largely Democrat) CIA for something they really were authorized to do. This transcends ideology. This is about survival. The director, no matter what his political alliegence, is powerless to stop the rank and file from self preservation.

Not to delve too deep into this, but Pelosi is on shakier ground than it looks. Even though she is specifically attacking the CIA on the issue of waterboarding, the counterattack may stray from that topic, and onto other things she knew about and kept quiet over.
Does the intelligence community want to go there? No. Will they, out of self defense? You bet. She may be emotionally blinded and power tripping, but her targets are intelligent, careful and prepared. They'll continue to resist until either she backs off, or is brought down by public opinion and loses her power to affect them. That point will be reached long before any intelligence officers wind up on trial.
Or so I would imagine. :-)

There’s a lot of evidence about Pelosi’s knowledge that doesn’t involve CIA memos. There’s Jane Harmon, for instance. What do you think Jane Harmon is going to say that Pelosi told her about the torture briefing when Harmon took over the intelligence committee? Harmon and Pelosi are arch enemies. They hate each other.
Well, it's a choice between the Holder justice department and Nancy Pelosi. Peloisi is telling the Whitehouse, I'm going to open this whole thing to light of day, if you do not shut down this investigation, right now. Obama can't let that happen. The motives behind the photo release were too vile, and they all trace back to Obama and his justice department. Read my earlier post at #206 or 07, something like that.
