Don't worry...we still have the financial services and insurance industries.
Plus, we can employ the marginally intelligent & ineducable as health care and food service workers. What could possibly go wrong?

This is SO sad, that is has come to this for GM. With this kind of announcement, they may as well just shut it down. They simply cannot survive, talking about selling Chinese cars! I mean, even if they sell 17000, or even 50000 of these, can you imagine how little profit per unit we are talking about? They better start making announcements about what high quality and bigger vehicles they are going to be producing.

Apparently, GM was basically told by OBooboo that GM can exist as long as they **bend over and take it in the A**, er, sell Chinese cars—and likely a whole mess of other vehicles, made in other countries, that should never be allowed on U.S. roads due to their lousy and dangerous track records. Hey, how about Russian cars that drop parts and rain fluids all the way down the freaking road or a Chinese sedan whose engine blows up? The majestic O must’ve threatened to take the GM CEO and his execs out to a lake somewhere and fit em’ with concrete booties if they didn’t do what he said.

Well, at least the Chinese cars aren’t made by union workers, right? I mean who wants to drive a car made by socialists? s/

I’m never buying another GM product.

This makes perfect sense to me. Where else would Obama Motors make their cars...a communist ran auto company making cars in Communist China.
And how much of GM do the Unions own??? Hmmm, wonder how it feels to own a company that hires foreign labor to replace you? It is all very confusing.
To: Plane_Guy
It’ll be a cold day in HE!! before I buy a car made in China.
Everything I’ve ever bought Chinese made has been inferior at best, usually junk.
If Chinese planes, tanks, missiles, ships are made with the same quality as the junk sold to us, we have nothing to worry about from their military.

Just what the financial Doctor ordered China built GM cars.
I had already decided to never buy another GM or Chrysler product. This just reaffirms my decision. More junk from China, great stimulus for the US economy. Amen.

One thing we need to keep in mind, is that the large vehicles such as Cadillacs, SUVs, pick up trucks, one ton trucks and bigger will be made in the US. The good ol boys in America wouldn't buy these vehicles if it was made anywhere else and especially if they were made in China. So, doubt anyone has anything to worry about.
So, likely, GM would import vehicles similar to the SATURN, small fuel efficient vehicles where cost to the consumer is the primary goal and will be used to get from point A to point B. SATURN never turned a profit anyway, so GM is giving up on making small fuel efficient vehicles in America.
