In an action that spoke far louder than words, Pope Benedict yesterday walked out of an interfaith meeting in Jerusalem after the chief Islamic judge of the Palestinian Authority launched into an anti-Israeli diatribe.
The pontiff, on his first day in Jerusalem, did not realize at first that Sheikh Taysir al-Tamimi, speaking in Arabic, was condemning the "crimes of the Jewish state" and accusing Israel of having "slaughtered women, children and senior citizens."
But as soon as he was told the nature of the sheikh's tirade, he stood and left the meeting, which took place at Notre Dame church, before it had concluded.
It's not as if the organizers shouldn't have seen this coming: Back in 2000, Tamimi did the same thing during a visit by the late Pope John Paul II.
A spokesman for the Holy See later condemned the remarks, saying that

“As it is, God has placed each member of the Body in the place He wanted it to be” 1Corinthians 12:18
So I’m happy where God has placed me and it has offered me many opportunies to speak of my Faith.
Their Pope is called Holy Father, and their priests take that description as well. They bow to their Pope and kiss his golden bejeweled ring. Then they rail against us heretics who actually believe God's Word speaks directly to our individual hearts.
Jesus had something to say about that, too.
Matthew 23: 8"But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. 9And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.
But what would Jesus know about it? /sarcasm!!!
I do think that there are some here who can’t quit coming back to Catholicism. It does seem like an obsession.
And if the intent is to sway Catholics , they fail utterly with the accusative, negative, contemptuous approach they use.
Maybe you would prefer Jesus' contemptuous tone! I had a good teacher.
Matthew 23
1Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. 3So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
5"Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them 'Rabbi.'
8"But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. 9And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.[b] 11The greatest among you will be your servant. 12For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
13"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.[c]
15"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
16"Woe to you, blind guides! You say, 'If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.' 17You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? 18You also say, 'If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.' 19You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. 22And he who swears by heaven swears by God's throne and by the one who sits on it.
23"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spicesmint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the lawjustice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.
25"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. 27"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. 28In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
29"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' 31So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!
33"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36I tell you the truth, all this will come upon this generation.
37"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. 38Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"

Gladly! Paul thoroughly explains the freedom God gave to Christians.
Romans 3: 19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin...
...27Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. 28For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. 29Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
That was Jesus’ address to the Pharisees. Are you making the outrageous case that I—we—Catholics are pharasaical hypocrites and killers and makers of sons of hell?
You have chosen a most unfortunate passage from Scripture to put before me/us as indication of your judgment of us as a Catholic people.
I believe this to be shameful, accusative, subjective, vindictive, and judgmental, as if judgment were yours, when God tells us it is His and His alone. The reason He reserves judgment to Himself alone is because He alone knows the hearts of men. You and I do not.
“Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart”, Jesus said. Do you think He means it?
“Take up your cross and follow Me” Do you think He means it?
“You must respect the person of every man” 1Peter 17
Does Peter mean that?
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patient endurance, kindness, generosity, faith, mmildness, and chastity. Against these there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23
Does Paul mean that? And—see—he, too, is referrs to “the law”.
Are you making the outrageous case that IweCatholics are pharasaical hypocrites and killers and makers of sons of hell?
I am not accusing the Roman Catholic church of anything. If the shoe fits, wear it. The passage is directed towards those hypocrites who demand adherence to the Law of Moses. Your church teachings are along those lines.
Jesus was addressing those SINNERS brought up under the Law of Moses, and letting us all know that the Law only brings death. I have posted numerous passages to support the exact opposite view from your church's teachings. Petronski keeps droning on about whether the Ten Commandments is still valid.
Of course they are valid. Jesus FULFILLED (that means completed, finished) all of the Laws given by Moses and the Patriarchs. He was blameless. There was nobody else who could serve as the Pascal Lamb. The Law reveals our need for His Grace. If we try to live by the Law, it only brings death. We cannot be good enough on our own.
If you insist on binding people to the Law (you, or your church), then yes, Jesus is calling you those things. I have been posting these Scriptures to explain that principle, but your church teachings are instilled from the cradle. It's surely hard to accept these thruths. Those "hypocrites" couldn't accept thew Grace of God, either. It is a FREE gift, with FAITH in Christ's efficacy as our Redeemer, not in your group of fancy's. If we are His, we are free from sin and death. Jesus promised.
I report, you decide!
Mark 12: As he taught, Jesus said, "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, 39and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 40They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."
...
Romans 2: 12All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, 15since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) 16This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

You are dealing with someone who has demonstrated a deep and profound hatred for the Catholic Church--so deep he won't even refer to the Church by her proper name--yet he will not give you a straight answer to your question because he does not possess the courage of his own convictions.
He is a cowardly mudslinger, a would-be fashionable iconoclast, nothing more.
But you don't feel you need to conform your behavior to them?
“iconoclast”
Yes.
Why didn’t I perceive that to be the apt description.
The sad and pathetic tale of the fashionable iconoclast.
“fashionable iconoclast.”
Very much in fashion with the DYI crowd.
fashionable iconoclast.
Make that:

As "Kayaker" says onward, if the shoe fits, wear it. And wear it with pride Mary! I think you people should sell used cars with the charisma y'all display. No, really! You people should start giving those empowerment seminars like Tony Robbins.
BTW, didn't mean to confuse you & kayaker with the word noisome, since you decided I was talking about you (which I wasn't) but it is just as well - so:
Noisome: a: offensive to the senses and especially to the sense of smell b: highly obnoxious or objectionable
Probably the B definition whould be more appropriate for the Bornigans, as in a noisome personality. Maybe a sun lamp would help, not sure.
Tell your buddies I said hello and I am beaming joyous waves of Popery at them!
Oh good Lord!
That's funny right there. LOL
Indeed they are.
I just got a call from the transplant center and I MIGHT have a perfect kidney available. They will call me later to see if it’s good. Please pray God’s will for me. Love, mary
And I’m happy for you, ROE. Truly.
Thanks, Hacksaw. I appreciate that, LOL.
