THE POPE STANDS UP (and walks out on Palestinian leader Sheikh Taysir al-Tamimi)

In an action that spoke far louder than words, Pope Benedict yesterday walked out of an interfaith meeting in Jerusalem after the chief Islamic judge of the Palestinian Authority launched into an anti-Israeli diatribe.
The pontiff, on his first day in Jerusalem, did not realize at first that Sheikh Taysir al-Tamimi, speaking in Arabic, was condemning the "crimes of the Jewish state" and accusing Israel of having "slaughtered women, children and senior citizens."
But as soon as he was told the nature of the sheikh's tirade, he stood and left the meeting, which took place at Notre Dame church, before it had concluded.
It's not as if the organizers shouldn't have seen this coming: Back in 2000, Tamimi did the same thing during a visit by the late Pope John Paul II.
A spokesman for the Holy See later condemned the remarks, saying that

I am tremendously heartened to see you display your anti-Catholic hatred so readily, so that readers might know the poison in your heart.

Let us count it all for good, Mary. The more they remove themselves from the truth of God’s word, the clearer the truth becomes.

What does “beyond the pale” have to do with religion, lol? It means beyond the fence or some enclosure.

Obviously he’s never read “Mein Kampf.” Hopefully, it may be on his junior high summer reading list.

In the end, all sins are between you and God as far as Catholicism is concerned. And your neighborhood priest because he is, according to RCC teaching, "another Christ," dontcha know?

The only thing "gross" around here is presidio9's virulent errors. I'm surprised you haven't distanced yourself from them.
PRESIDIO9's POST 286 (for content and context)
"...There were not "six million" killed or murdered in the holocuast. Nobody knows how many. There were at least 3 million Polish Catholics. And nobody knows for sure what the grand total is..."
That, added to the lunacy of his more recent remarks that somehow as many Catholics, Pols and gypsies were murdered by the Nazis as were Jews, ratchets up his foul revisionism by quite a bit.
Run away...run away...

Tell me, if I show up at a local Catholic Church and start preaching about the wonderfulness of IVF and how God has blessed me with my wonderful children and how an infertile couple neednt suffer any more...are you telling me that the priest at that church would smile and pat me on my head and say, Good work, child!! We are so glad to have you here! The point is you WOULDNT be preaching in a Catholic Church, unless you were ordained. If you go to a church where anybody can say whatevers on his mind at any time, that has to get confusing once in a while. It would for me any way. If it works for you, good luck with that. Actually, I'm thinking that things are a little different even where you go to church. Adultry is still wrong in your denomination, right? Do the people who cheat on their spouses leave out of shame? What about the ones who are convinved that they didn't do anything wrong, and say so?

This isn’t the first time you’ve made comments about my intelligence and ability to reason. I think YOU have that problem, not me. You just keep rambling on and on. Get a job.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
First, let me note your consistency on being a poster who cannot debate rationally but who invariably stoops to personal attacks. It's in keeping with the general vacuousness of your perspective. Oh PLEASE. You are perhaps the nastiest anti Catholic around here. And this is pointed out to you by others whenever you venture out of the protection of the religion forums. I think you actually do the Catholic Church a favor by being so foul.
And let us keep in mind that the vast majority of Hitler's architects of death were practicing Roman Catholics.
A flat out lie. One of my ancestors who died in a death camp would be amused by your lie. He was a Catholic priest.
By God's grace, what goes around comes around.
So Sorry, but God isn't going to exterminate the Catholic Church. But at least you have shown a peek into your soul.
Do us Catholics a favor - keep being yourself, and help return more wavering Catholics home.

You, like your buddies, make personal insults while the rest of us try to keep the discussion on track.
As noted a thousand times around here, ANY questioning or criticism of the RCC is seen as "personal attacks" by some RC posters and therefore must be shouted down, not with rational debate, but with crude name-calling and lies.
So do you think, as presidio9 tells us, that as many Catholics, Pols and gypsies were murdered by the Nazis as were Jews?

No use in engaging people who are full of hate.
The best you can do with them is to give them a link to a literacy test and an audio Bible, say a quick prayer and let them keep believing there hate is a Providential calling.

I know you'd prefer I "run away run away" but I think I might linger a while pointing out your gross distortions.
Your own quote demonstrates your lie.
...first proclaiming six million Jews didn't die in the Holocaust, and then after you were called on it, quickly CYA by mumbling something about maybe more, maybe less...
After he was "called on it?"
There were not "six million" killed or murdered in the holocuast. Nobody knows how many.
Whomever you claim "called him on it" between those two sentences worked pretty quickly.

Do you think six million "Catholics, Pols and gypsies" were murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust?
Are you "happy" when "Islam flourishes?"
Both statements were made by presidio9.
Have you watched ANY of the videos of Ratzinger and Tamimi? Have you seen that the title is incorrect because, as all the videos show, Ratzinger stays seated for Tamimi's entire six-minute speech, after which he shakes Tamimi's hand, not once, but TWICE?
It's easy to come on a thread like this and simply join in the chorus of name-calling. A prudent person would watch the videos and decide for himself.
