In an action that spoke far louder than words, Pope Benedict yesterday walked out of an interfaith meeting in Jerusalem after the chief Islamic judge of the Palestinian Authority launched into an anti-Israeli diatribe.
The pontiff, on his first day in Jerusalem, did not realize at first that Sheikh Taysir al-Tamimi, speaking in Arabic, was condemning the "crimes of the Jewish state" and accusing Israel of having "slaughtered women, children and senior citizens."
But as soon as he was told the nature of the sheikh's tirade, he stood and left the meeting, which took place at Notre Dame church, before it had concluded.
It's not as if the organizers shouldn't have seen this coming: Back in 2000, Tamimi did the same thing during a visit by the late Pope John Paul II.
A spokesman for the Holy See later condemned the remarks, saying that

LOL. Since you've used that term to describe me before, I can only assume you're talking about me again.
FYI, I never pinged the Moderators.
This leads me to believe that the moderators did what I would have done. They got the complaint, simply read a few posts out of context, and then passed judgement.
Or maybe the Moderators can read in context and know what they're doing and who they're telling to "knock it off."
Amen.
Amen. The fruitful will always have the last laugh.
Benedict does not speak Arabic and there was no translation for Tamimi's Arabic tirade.
Do you see His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI shaking the terrorit's hand, not once, but TWICE?
Both times just before Benedict was told of the contents of the speech. Moments later Benedict walked out on Tamimi, ending the event early.
The desire to defend the indefensible is pathological.
As God wills.
His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI sits politely while a known terrorist rants for six full minutes.
In a language Benedict does not speak, without translation.
His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI then shakes the terrorist's hand not once, but TWICE.
And only then, moments thereafter, is Benedict told of the content of Tamimi's speech, at which time he promptly walks out, ending the event early.
Your desire to lie in support of Tamimi's anti-Israel anti-Christian stunt is pathological.
As God wills.
Ratzinger then shakes the terrorist’s hand not once, but TWICE.
“God’s truth given to us in Scripture by the work of the Holy Spirit”
But what about “progressive, situational, dynamic equivalence”? i.e. do I still have to wear a tie for services and can we use a waltz time rhythm hymn in place of old Ethyl’s anthems?
And ONLY AFTER THAT is he informed of the content of Tamimi's speech, at which point Benedict walks out on him, ending the event early in protest.
Old Ethyl knew her way around the keyboards. Listen to her. And sit up straight.
It is a misstatement and faulty understanding of human fertility to state that “every month women who do not undergo ANY treatment whatsoever CONCEIVE NATURALLY and those embryos FIZZLE OUT AND DIE because GOD has decided not to allow that pregnancy to continue”
Anyone who has working knowledge of the combined fertility of man and wife knows that every month women do not automatically conceive, with or without treatment.
I had training in this field and would like to have you substantiate your claim or at least clarify what it is that you are attempting to convey.
Dear departed Ethyl. I send her my dogs and she sends me her cats.
Tamiri, a well-known firebrand, was given time to speak. He didn't rush the stage and grab the microphone. Although he had "embarrassed" JPII years earlier, the "Catholic organizers" of the event held in a "Roman Catholic institution" still gave him a place on the schedule and uninterrupted time to spew his hatred of Israel.
Obviously Rome is even more cloistered and decrepit than we thought. That or Rome knew what it was doing and let it all play out.
After the six-minute speech, Ratzinger shook Tamiri's hand not once, but TWICE.
Obviously Ethyl gets around.
They are wrong.... al-Reuters is a Tamimi sympathizer, like you. They are known frauds in the name of Pali causes, again, like you.

It took her 10 minutes to play a short introduction to “Amazing Grace” Sunday and no one said it sounded sweet. Fortunately, the interim Pastor recognized that if we went through all 5 verses he would not have enough time to collect the offering and preach, so he cut it off at two verses. We sang the last hymn a capella, one verse of “Fairest Lord Jesus”; it was moving, I think more from relief that Ethyl couldn’t “dirge” it.
And ONLY AFTER THAT is he informed of the content of Tamimi's speech, at which point Benedict walks out on him, ending the event early in protest.
“little bit” (DeNiro)
Those lying eyes will trip up Rome every time.
They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them." -- Psalms 115:4-8"Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
It does not. The video cannot show those parts of the event that didn't happen because THEY DIDN'T HAPPEN. The event was cut short.
