Anthony Romero, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, says gay marriage will ultimately be legalized throughout the country.
With four states already allowing same-sex marriage and several others moving in that direction, its just a matter of time before the whole country goes that way, Romero tells The Philadelphia Inquirer. Clearly the momentum is on our side.
Last week, Maines legislature approved a gay marriage bill, and New Hampshires has done the same. Also last week, the Washington, DC City Council voted to recognize out-of-state gay marriages. Massachusetts, Iowa, Vermont and Connecticut permit same-sex marriage.
But Romero, the first openly gay head of the ACLU, may be counting his chickens before they hatch. Certainly more conservative states wont be passing gay marriage bills anytime soon.

For the ACLU to say it doesn’t mean much. When the gay groups trumpet it, however, the MSM will swoon and treat it as a done deal.
We opposed gay marriage nearly 60/40 when we voted on it here in Michigan.
One more reason for the 10th amendment.
“Clearly the momentum for legalized perversion is on their side.” - ACLU hack
Not really. But you can think whatever you want. I’m not coming to your little fantasy camp, however.
The ACLU still does a pretty good job implementing the socialist agenda for America however. Legalizing perversion and destroying marriage/nuclear family is one they’ve been hammering on for 70 years.
One more reason for secession. All the states take back their powers delegated to the federal government. Then we rebuild a smaller federal government that will stay within the confines of the US constitution and the bill of rights.
And add some extra provisions defining treason, the quick punishment of treason on government officials, and also the ability to swiftly remove federal agents, officers, and politicians for promotion of Un-constitutional laws.
Ohio Amended the state constitution carried by 89% of the vote...
No...it’s not going to be nationwide.
“Homo of the Free, and Land of the Bumthumpers”
Prop 8 won by a huge margin here. I am proud to say I voted YES on Prop 8. There were idiots outside our voting place asking us all to vote No so I went in and voted YES, it felt great. Apparently the vote of the people means nothing. I will NEVER support Gay Marriage, it is morally wrong..What next, people marrying dogs and cats
A looey enough Supreme Court is all the rump rangers want. Imagine worst case scenario — we lose Scalia while Obama still has a chance to put an “empathetic” judge in, and Senate filibuster proof. Think that might suffice to get a Court that will “order” Congress to do this?
These clowns keep saying that Americans want gay marriage but they won’t talk about why American people oppose it every time we’re given the choice.
Hell I know homosexuals who oppose it.
Carried every county in the State except Athens.

I think you are thinking of Mississippi where it was 86%-14%.

Hrmm....could very well be...I could have sworn it was higher...
my bad....
It might have been a polling number I’m thinking about...
Yep. Sure is. Keep it up you ACLU dumbasses. Years from now you’ll be asking yourselves how such a great idea turned into such a disaster.
I don't think that it won by a "huge" margin. It won by 4.48 percentage points - less than Barry's margin of victory, which was by no means "huge".
As George Will pointed out on "This Week" yesterday, the gay marriage debate is going to eventually go away - it's just a matter of demographic trends and time. While there will be states that won't accept gay marriage in the foreseeable future, predominantly in the old south, in another ten years almost all of the states, including California will recognize some kind of domestic partnership or marriage contract between two homosexuals.
By the way, I'm not endorsing the practice, but I am recognizing the voting trends.
There is no organization in this country as practiced as the ACLU is in using our own Constitution as a weapon to destroy our culture.
Never happen. All governments start out relatively small (except for Communist states)and then grow bigger and bigger over time, until they become so large that they collapse. Hence, the need for parallel hierarchies with a moral base, or networks that take up the slack after the inevitable collapse. Christianity was one such network, that provided some kind of order after the fall of Rome.
ACLU = perverts
Next up pedophilia, polyamory, polygamy, bestiality. All that matters is looooooove, sweet looooove.
