Then provide a link where the Vatican OPPOSES demonstrations against abortion.

Also, what honorary degree was Clinton given by Notre Dame?

And finally, if this is such a non-issue, why have so many bishops condemned it?

Stop being daft. I never stated that. Can you honestly look at adults pushing baby carriages with bloodied dolls as effective, let alone sane? If you do then God help you, because you're too far gone for human intervention.

Many leaders in the Catholic Church have openly stated that what Fr. Jenkins is doing is a grievous scandal and wrong.

FYI, those under Jenkins’ authority have prevented Dr. Keyes from attending Mass at the Notre Dame chapel tomorrow morning.

Jenkins is exercising his power using the civil authority, but he stands on very shaky ground when it comes to Canon Law.

Clinton wasn’t ever invited to be commencement speaker at Notre Dame either.

jla, didn't say the Catholic church opposes demonstrations against abortion. He said they oppose carnival-like tactics. As much as I wish that were true, I have never seen anything in writing that supports jla's contention.

Nine years ago, we protested Clinton when he came to speak at Catholic La Salle University, here in Philly. First we made phone calls to the university but to no avail. Several people who demonstrated with us and made the calls, still post on this board. We stood there with signs like normal people.

That's how Alan and company should be doing this and they should have gone through the proper channels and planned it so there were a few hundred people with them. And yes, since some in the media have been publicizing this controversy, such a protest would have been reported and we would be talking about it.

Thus, there is absolutely no need for all the hysterics and drama on the part of Terry and Keyes, or their calling for the invitation of others to also get arrested and join them in jail. It's ridiculous and all for the headlines. So sad.
