Barking up the wrong tree there, Newt. Bring back the Contract With America and polish it up a bit to stress Freedom and Liberty. We don't need the govment developing "blueprints" to overhaul the country. That's what keeps us in the perpetual messes we are in. Just get govmint out of the way and let private industry do its job.

Instead reduce regulation. Sound money. Low marginal tax rates. Reduced federal spending. Accelerated cost recovery. R&D tax credits. Strong defense. It worked once and can work again.

Carter was a Christian on the wishful-thinking train--you know, act as if what you wish were true were actually true. Results: harmful. 0 is not a Christian and is moving ahead with his communist agenda. Results: calamitous.

Worth repeating.

But unfortunately the Obama directors are far far more psychologically savvy than many comments here or even the conservative (honest) opposition. They will tune up the appropriate aphorisms, or pull up the appropriate statistic when required (e.g. election time), and can even make the naive feel cool while plunging them into the cesspool.

There is virtually no conservative in the arena that can take them on fundamentally, logically, and forcefully. And young Americans are not getting any smarter (e.g. Obama support itself).
