CBS announcer: Any U.S. soldier would shoot Pelosi, strangle Reid @ 5:16 pm by Michael O'Brien
CBS Sports commentator David Feherty drew criticism Friday for suggesting any U.S. soldier would murder House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) if given the chance.
"From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this, though: despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death," Feherty wrote in an a D Magazine piece welcoming former President George W. Bush back to Dallas.
Feherty, a former professional golfer who now helps call golf events for CBS, said that troops love former President Bush by contrast, and praised the former commander-in-chief for having prevented additional terrorist attacks during his time in office.
Liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America demanded an apology for the remarks Friday.
"Mr. Feherty's violent comments about Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are disgusting," said Media Matters President Eric Burns. "Suggesting that our troops would attack the leaders of the very democracy they've sworn to sacrifice their lives for is an insult to their integrity, honor, and professionalism. CBS Sports should demand its golf analyst apologize to our soldiers."

"I'd say he will out of a job soon...."
Sure. And the DHS people who issued that report calling veterans extremists will be, too.
Won't happen. The Left and the MSM (but I repeat myself) see nothing wrong with impugning conservatives, Christians or the military.

Yes it was. I think there are a few on the board that have little or no sense of humor. Feherty is also sayin' that the troops really respected W but have no respect for the Dem leaders in Congress. I think that point has been missed.
Exactly correct.
David Feherty rocks.
Media Matters s*ucks.
As do Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
One element as yet unexplored by the sniveling whackjobs at Media Matters is exactly why it is so entirely plausible that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Ladin are riding together on the same elevator. (The plausibility of that scenario is in fact more disturbing than Feherty's speculation as to what a member of the U.S. Armed Forces might do when he stumbles upon this unholy association.)
We should let them cogitate on that until resolution. In the meantime, we should fix a drink and watch a golf tournament, featuring hilarious commentary by Mr. Feherty.

Geez everyone. lighten up.
It's a humor column, the kind that Dave Barry used to write.
You know, somewhere in the recesses of your mind, that he's right. But we can't say these things, at least not in polite company...

The polls show virtually no one else does either.

It was altered. I just checked. The fellow who originally posted the photo admitted it, but said it was from a quote on their website. If you look in the top left hand corner you’ll see “photo illustration”, which is not all that clear, but he meant it to be a signal that it is not an original photo.

It’s to bad these two don’t honor the oath they took when they entered office to protect the Constitution of the United States!

"Suggesting that our troops would attack the leaders of the very democracy they've sworn to sacrifice their lives for is an insult to their integrity, honor, and professionalism. Regardless of the pros and cons of the original statement, this is pure ignorance.
They are sworn to defend the CONSTITUITION from all enemies, foreign or domestic.
There are arguments to be made about whether Pelosi & Reid are 'domestic enemies' of the Constitution.
As long as Osama wasn't breathing when the elevator doors opened, I know I could accept a bit of collateral damage. *<];-')

Of course, I wouldnt piss on em if they were on fire, eitherNeither would I.
I'd be laughing too hard to be sure of aim.
Besides, if I saved it, it would be all the more to water their graves with.

One minor point. The guy now running Media Matters, Eric Burns, used to be the host of FOX’s weekly show analyzing press coverage. Can’t say I’m too surprised by his new employment.
As a comment to this thread in general, we do seem to be nearer the political situation referenced on my home page.

LMAO. But no, shoot Osama with one round and let Pelosi and Reid fight over the weapon and last round to commit suicide after their ideological messiah is dead.

Hey, Eric. They've sworn to protect the Republic. Get your terms right. Well, since you're from Media Matters we know in which political direction your heart leans.
