They should have taken it at a different angle - the angle where the twin towers are missing.

Never forget.

That’s the picture? It’s not impressive at all. Glare from the window, composition, lighting, contrast, etc... Any 10 year old could do just as well. I want my tax dollars back.

Better check the time and weather on the day of the incident and see if it corresponds with this picture.

Very sucky photo, the angle is way too steep.

Awfully crappy sky for a photo shoot. Hazy, smoggy, dark.

The exposure on this is horrible.

There's no way a professional photographer would accept this, or allow it to be released.

Rather than just a photo, I would think the RAW file should be released, as well as others on the memory card that was used for the series. It's impossible that only one photo was taken.

My guess is that if this is indeed one of the actual photos, it has been adjusted in order to conceal something. Also, the White House should reveal what type of camera equipment was used and what were the settings. A high resolution shot (15M +) would likely show a lot of detail, so much that it should be possible to determine the identity of the ferry boat that is a few hundred yards of the island. Almost certainly, there were people on the ferry who took pictures from the ground, and they can verify the position of the photographer's plane.

My first thought on seeing this photo is that it doesn't match the direction of the F-16- as is always appeared more rearward.

Lol! Look at the glare on the canopy! What a freaking riot! No doubt, the pilot had his personal camera with him, and he took the opportunity to snap a few photos. My husband’s done that so many times during training and actual missions that I couldn’t even guess close to the number of photos we have laying around here.

That said, who was the supposed “real photographer?” And his career has him normally shooting photos from a military jet? I didn’t think you could take all that gear up with you into an ejection seat.

Nice try Obama. It’s helping us every time you keep insulting us.

Well, the statue is 300 ft tall from base to top.

AF1 here is about 230 feet long.

AF1 looks to be 4 times the objective length of the statue, so it could be about 1000 feet up. I did not correct for parallax. If you assume that 300 is close enough to 230, then having the plane be 4x the statue gives 1200 feet.

The videos of the people running look like the plane is lower than that, though.

The glare at the top and shadow at the bottom correlates well with the story that the shot was snapped with a handheld from one of the chase planes.

If this is a $300K shot I’m taking my Nikon and going pro!
