WASHINGTON - The White House aide who authorized the controversial Air Force One photo-op flight last week around the Statue of Liberty is out of a job.
President Obama has accepted the resignation of Louis Caldera, the director of the White House Military Office, the Daily News learned Friday.
A secretary of the Army in the Clinton administration, Caldera took the fall for the public relations fiasco arising from the April 27 flyover, which was designed to replace a publicity photo of Air Force One flying past Mount Rushmore with a similar shot of Obama's 747 jumbo jet over the Statue of Liberty.
Caldera is the scapegoat. WHO requested the flight and who was on the plane? WHO was the highest authority to really sign off on this whole (wasteful spending) publicity stunt?
I don’t believe that is true. The engines are stock. There are pods mounted on the wings next to the engines that are IR jammers that lessen the exhaust signature.
Candor wrote, “There IS ore to this than meets the eye...”
Methinks, not only “candor”, but Freudian genius!
Mine the ore of truth, oh ye courageous Freepers!
The Flyover, Reopening, and the Resignation...Kinda coincidental don't ya think?
As mentioned on yesterday's Toady Show, this grand re-opening is the first time since 9-11 and under the Zerobama Admin. The WH didn't release the one photo of the flyover until it coincided with the re-opening.
On Friday's Toady Show it was mentioned that the only ones to be allowed to climb up the stairs to the crown would be by lottery, and it won't matter what your position in life is...Of course, having said that, some drone chimes in that the one person who should be the first to climb...should be none other than resident 0bama himself. Wow...we have our first lottery winner... The "contradiction with policy" was totally lost on the drone.
So, it would seem the flyover and the possible climb of the Statue's stairs by Resident 0bama are magically related afterall. Now, let's add up the costs...$357,000 for the flyover...another $700,000 for the return trip to climb the stairs on national TV...yup, Chump Change...but CHANGE never the less. Change you can help pay for.
Resident 0bama may now forgo the climb of the stairs due to the fact that it's no longer a smart move politically (unless he's that arrogant!) The other thing he might try to deflect criticism...is to have his Hollywood friends start a big wild fire on the West Coast, so everyone concentrates on that...or perhaps not.
Guess so; I thought you were serious!!!
I know nothing about AF1 protocols; however, even I can see that Obama’s feigned outrage is a poor imitation of the real outrage a parent feels when his newly licensed teen surreptitiously takes the family car out for a joyride. We blithering idiots out in the heartland are to believe that this event is no more serious than that. We’re to believe that Obama, who micromanages EVERYTHING, was somehow blindsided by a rogue employee who woke up one day and thought, “I think I’ll take the plane out for a spin.” No, this guy offered himself up as the sacrificial lamb.
“WASHINGTON - The White House aide who authorized the controversial Air Force One photo-op flight last week around the Statue of Liberty is out of a job.”
Well we all know he authorized it. I want to know who requested it.
In the Rushmore flyby pictures, you can see the exhaust blur. It’s not so much temperature as the density and turbulence. A high pressure jet of cold air would also show the blur.
Wow! You may have guessed the magic sequence here. So the WH, knowing that The One will be the first non-construction worker or union boss to climb the stairs, so The One says, I need footage of my plane zooming past the statue, showing the crown with the plane in the background.
His minions make it happen, the “good footage” being shot from the ground, to be released to CNN on the appropriate day.
That would explain the amateur shot from the air.
Bets are that Michelle was On Board

I think it was Michelle too.
How many heart attacks and strokes were triggered by this negligence? Many possibly occurring days later brought on by a massive PTSD attack by people who had been pulled out of 9/11 rubble only to die later from the fear this caused them?
How many people have had their lives degraded now that they are having reoccurring nightmares triggered by this incident? Many lived through those horrors and have spent years trying to stabilize their lives.
This was deliberate. Federal authorities knew this would panic New York City. Documents prove it.
In fact NYC authorities are on record saying they will never allow themselves to be ordered into something like this again and will refuse any and all federal orders to the contrary.
Those are strong statements by NYC authorities further proving that this whole think is no laughing matter.
There is negligence involved here that may be criminal. There are no excuses for pre 9/11 thinking or mindset.
Thousands of hard working New Yorkers, 9/11 survivors who were involved in the horrors of 9/11 had PTSD stress triggers popping off left and right caused by this act. People were running into the streets in a blind panic hearing jet screaming around where they knew none are ever supposed to be flying.
You better believe there are going to be major lawsuits over this and justifiably so. This is no joke after 9/11 and its reprehensible that you Obama worshipers would try to defend this glaring act of unprofessionalism that played out before a city of millions and indeed before the world.
How much would the world have ridiculed Putin, Chavez, Castro or Amahdenijad if he had one of them had pulled this stunt for an ego driven alleged “photo op” for example, and then THIS is the photo that is released?
Any other world leader that had done something like this would be soundly ridiculed around the planet, condemned and thought to be a totally incompetent a$$ not fit for office.
The outrage is now only just beginning.
Start putting pressure on your congressional representatives on both sides of the aisle to get this incident thoroughly investigated.
Who knew what? When? Who has lied about what? to date? FOIA every document.
“The White House aide who authorized”......
The question is not who authorized it but who urged and requested him to authorize.
We don’t know if the photo came from that day, or who ordered it, or if it was photoshopped to look bad and more ‘believable’, or who was on the plane.
I have a few remaining simple, ‘dumb’ questions:
Why was a photo-op necessary when better photos of the plane already exist?
To save $357,000, why couldn’t photos be taken when Air Force One is en route to other destinations? (It’s not like the plane sits there and never gets used, or never flies over NYC.)
IF that’s now the official AF One photo to be used by the WH, when can we see it in any publication? When will its official use as a photo begin, or will it actually ever be used?
If the Statue of Liberty was the purpose for the photo, why did the plane almost clip skyscrapers around Manhattan?
And why wasn’t PhotoShop used, when the results would have been better and at no cost?
Seems very likely. Probably a “pay to play with Air Force One” deal. Not remotely likely that Zero did not personally approve this. Had he not been in Europe at the time, I would think Zero just decided it would be “fun” to buzz New York.

It is not Obama’s jet. That plane belongs to We the People.
Two words:
Scape Goat
“That said, who was the supposed real photographer? And his career has him normally shooting photos from a military jet? I didnt think you could take all that gear up with you into an ejection seat.”
Sure you can.
There was a Naval Aviator by the name of C.J. Heatley who did some great photography from both the front and rear seat of an F-14.

IIRC, the 177th Fighter Wing ‘Red Devils’ of the NJ ANG runs a red tailed F-16 out of Atlantic City.
Sort of.
They're the Jersey Devils (some kinda NJ Pine Barrens mythical creature).
Their tails aren't as distinctive as Alabama's, though.
