Savage's colleagues react in horror 'Thank God we broke away from that cowardly country'

WASHINGTON – Michael Savage's talk-radio colleagues and competitors reacted in horror today to news that the No. 3 host in the U.S. was banned from entering the United Kingdom

"As a host who witnessed first hand the hate speech not only tolerated but encouraged by the U.K., I am appalled and amused at the suggestion that Michael Savage is banned from the U.K. for his speech," said Rusty Humphries of Talk Radio Network. "Thank God we broke away from that cowardly country."

Lars Larson, a Pacific Northwest talker with national distribution, sees the action by the U.K. as a warning to all who exercise their First Amendment rights in the U.S.

"I often disagree with the WAY that Michael Savage says things," said Larson. "I think he's often rude and crude unnecessarily. But isn't that precisely the point? That is exactly the kind of speech the founders of our country meant to protect with the First Amendment. England says a lot about itself and the government's attitude toward its subjects when it forbids a man from coming to Great Britain because he presents challenging ideas presented in a challenging way. And it should send a cold chill through the heart of any man who loves freedom when he asks himself, 'whose ideas and speech will be banned by government next?'"

“How many colonies have they had over time and still have?”

More than we can count. If the idiots hadn’t carved up China I do not think there would be Communism. The one thing that ticks me off is that they went around the world and instead of learning and following the customs they pretty much recreated Britain wherever they went.

Now not every foreign custom was a good idea, but they went there, treated the native locals like dirt, and then simply demanded exceptions from their basic laws when they broke them.

A guy who coins the phrase "compassionate conservativism" deserves better than that, no? Not even Top 10?

Savage is a national treasure. He is the best voice on the radio bar none. No other radio personality can compare to his intellect and experience as well as his knowledge of history and he knows it...so he comes off as cocky..but when your a bad ass you can be a little cocky. ;)

The UK is lost...as is the US...all down the well of political correctness and marxism!

He is hardly “extreme” like so many detractors make him out to be..if he is “extreme” then the founding fathers were crazy right wing nut jobs. I guess the truth is considered “extreme” nowadays.

If they somehow get Savage off the air its time to leave the country...cause we are all next!

A little bit of Savage goes a long way. But I don’t think I have ever disagreed with a single point he has ever made.

Rush is polished and I can listn to him. Hannity just like to hear himself speak.

"As abrasive, rude and pompous he sounds sometimes, I like his independent thinking, he is very insightful on many issues."

That's the way I feel- he called out GWB way early on his liberal actions.

Sadly restrictions on talk radio whether from “cyber bullying” legislation, the Fairness Doctrine or forcing radio stations and ISPs to be subservient to local “community” and diversity standards are coming in the US sooner than we expect. Commentators like Savage, Rush and Hannity will soon only be available by short wave radio from foreign countries over the Obama Curtain. I expect the First and Second Amendments will be nothing more than meaningless words by the end of Obama’s first and pray God last term.

tomorrow they might find this forum and its members hateful as well.

That is quite a worrying thought actually for us UK based freepers.

Rush and Sean will NEVER mention it.. neither of them have the stones.

Neither will O'Reilly, whom Savage calls "the Leprechaun" when he is being charitable.

Savage is more abrasive than extreme. Most conservatives can subscribe to most of his views.

The problem is how soon will they use Transnationalism to apply the ban on Savage inside the United States.

Good thing free speech in Britain is protected by their famous "unwritten Constitution". It is truly worth the paper it is written on. Oh wait ... well, it actually is. /sarc

News from the UK:

British National Party leader detained [arrested] after calling Islam ‘wicked faith’
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1301524/posts

“Forty per cent of Muslim students polled supported the introduction of sharia into British law for Muslims; a third supported the introduction of a worldwide caliphate instituted in accordance with sharia; and a third believed that killing in the name of their religion could be justified.”

All of this is OK. But Michael Savage must be banned. How upside down can you get?

," Humphries said. "I was shocked to hear, in front of the London Central Mosque, that Islam will dominate the world and the White House will be overtaken and destroyed. "I heard chants of 'death to Tony Blair,' 'death to the queen' and 'death to George W. Bush.'"

Hate speech tolerated in the U.K. some time back prophesying or the U.S's BHO who was to come a few years latter. Hmm-mm!

I’m hoping Miss Ingraham comes to his defense. I think she did so once before. When Savage was officially condemned by the San Fransicko Board of Supervisors a few years ago, Michael Medved and Tammy Bruce did come to Savage’s defense and I give them credit for doing that. I guess they were smart enough to realize that government attacks against one talk radio host is ultimately a government attack against all radio talk show hosts.

Indeed. It’s sad to see that political correctness and Islam may do to England what Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia failed to do. Then again, Nazi Germany had to deal with Churchill and Soviet Russia had to deal with Mrs. Thatcher. Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have been utter disasters for the UK and for the West.

hmmm...I don’t like Michael Savage, but this is bizarre.

Their country is being overwhelmed by violent hate filled muslims and they’re worried about a guy who is full of hotair?
