Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), the 2008 vice presidential nominee, will join a new Republican policy group aimed at reshaping and promoting the party brand.
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.)announced Palins decision to join the National Council for a New America on Monday night. The group launched late last week and held its first town hall-style forum on Saturday in Virginia.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the 2008 presidential nominee, indicated during a conference call last week that his former running mate had been invited to join the policy panel. The group, which is made up of prominent Republican leaders, plans to hold town hall meetings across the country over the next few months.
Palins absence from the group had prompted questions about whether she was snubbing it or being left out.
Sure you did. That's why I kept seeing all those posts from you pleading with everyone to get back on topic.
If this thread got hi-jacked, you are in large part - responsible.
And I'm not here to defend Bristol's life path. That's her cross to bear. She made a mistake. All people do, and young teenagers more so. She's dealing with the consequences as best she can. Why don't we let her and turn our attention to more pressing matters.
Such as the topic of this thread and whether it is a good thing for Gov. Palin to be associated with this GOP re-branding initiative.
Personally, I think it's important for her to be a part of it. Otherwise the voices of the more conservative base will be drowned out by the RINO groups.
I had hoped that her absence was by design, rather than schedule or oversight. Sarah does not need these losers to be the leader.
No wonder we can't get good leadership on the Republican side. There are wing-nuts all over the place ready to pounce on their “sins “ or the “sins” of their children. I wouldn't run for dogcatcher in this environment.
Can I report Farmer as a post abuser. His idiocy ruined a pretty good thread. I know I am new but Farmer is a just astroturfing this thread add it sucks.
Sarah - please always have this in the back of your mind: America wanted John Wayne and we got "Bat Boy" - be a female John Wayne!
It’s not too difficult: if you get pregnant, and if it is even remotely possible, get married. If your daughter refuses to do that, or her low-life boyfriend stands in the way of the right course, some sort of public reproof might be in order. That’s all. If that represents an extraordinarily HIGH standard of behavior, then Conservatives have become the Hugh Heffner generation.
CA....
You've said your piece.
You want to keep talking about it, fine; start your own thread and direct everyone who wants to keep "discussing" it with you there.
are you alright? lots of anger in that statement. chill out, take a walk, oyu need some rest.
Fair enough. Let’s talk about the virtues of Sarah throwing in with the Romney Bush crowd. Talk, people. I’ll respond by Freepmail to anyone else on the forbidden topic.

McShame should follow Specter.
Hope she prayed about this...
Not at all. Publicly reproving trolls and reporting them to the mods are both appropriate and mutually reinforcing responses.
Let's let her use it.
Or do you think the GOP is just going to come to its senses all on its own and become more conservative?
To keep it simple I've used a football metaphor.
We are, politically, in the division title round getting ready to head into the playoffs. The playoffs are where the contenders for the conference (GOP) battle it out to win the right to take on the opposition in the Super Bowl.
You can't be a part of the game, the battle, if you're not on the field. Sarah HAS TO BE on the field. I don't see that as throwing in with the Romney Bush crowd.
And she can't influence the direction of the GOP by sitting on the sidelines. Unless of course you want the Romney Bush crowd to be the sole voices in the direction of the party.
All this says is that she was invited, doesn't say she actually joined. I think it is another hit job by the left trying to turn conservatives against her.
LOL! You are quoting mad Debbie? Debbie Schlussel is just like the rest of the MSM when it comes to Palin. Her rants are seething with contempt and hatred for Palin’s rural, middle-class background.
Below a few gems of Schlussels hateful vitriol against the Palin family, calling them pretentious, stupid, white trash:
