"They're both losers, thinking only of themselves. Too bad for their children, they are the ones who suffer.

That pretty much nails it. There certainly are no good guys in this story. I don't read HuffPo, but this writer didn't make anyone out to be the victim, except for the children perhaps, and that's how it should be.

When there are such large personalities and egos at work, as in the case of John and Elizabeth Edwards, civility and discretion for the sake of the children always seem to be the first casualty in these far too public affairs of the heart.

It's a damn shame. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember the article saying anything about their children's suffering.
