Unlike Romney's "National Council for a New America," Free Republic is a conservative site!
Refer to Romney's Council for a New American Socialist State formed in HIS Image ^

If YOU didn't see the tea parties as successful; well, then maybe you didn't want to see it that way. They, indeed, were most successful! Those guys rocked.

We would have been better off with Romney as president than what we ended up with.

Why is there this assumption that if it were not for McCain, Romeny would have won the WH?
I know a lot (and I do mean a lot) of people who held their nose and voted McCain (mostly because of Sarah), who would not have, under ANY circumstances voted for Romney.
IMO, a Romney nom in 2008 would have led to a worse landslide.

Who are you channelling? Patrick Henry? "The rules are the rules," sounds more like Judge Smails in "Caddyshack".

Yeah, I guess exchanging phone numbers and passing out literature is a real success story. Sorry if I’m not all a twitter about it. I agree the people attending rocked, taking time off from work and being an activist for something you belive it is a good thing......but I don’t see where it made a difference, I’m hoping these teaparties will make a difference down the line, but right now I am a little hesitant to say they were succesful, there’s no proof of that yet.

Romneys supporters try to paint him as a politician who has come to see the light,

Well, he was “in the dark” for 40 years ...
tell him to “stay in the light” for 40 years...
and then run for office...
maybe his conservative creds will have kicked in by then...

I’m sure that people in Utah (and other western states) have plenty of opportunities to vote for conservative Mormons, we’ve never had one in Virginia that I can recall and there has NEVER been a conservative Mormon to run for President that I am aware of.

Moreso, because I see these despicable people as not only going against what this nation was built upon, but going against the very commands of God almighty, and let me assure you that my love, devotion, and loyalty go to God above all else.
