According to Wikipedia, Atwater was working for Reagan in 1981.

Polls tell us one thing, and one thing only: how effective is the media at getting its message across

Read that again it was about a study of polls, not a poll.

Do you know anything about Ronald Reagan and conservatism?

Have you ever considered, that if the Democrats succeed in pushing through amnesty, Jeb Bush (with his Mexican wife) may be the only Republican that could get elected?

No argument there at all.

What poisoned the well, unfortunately, was the House of Pig Trough having purse-string power after 60 years in the wilderness after 1994. The Next Right, flip a coin, won’t make the same mistakes.

I know what it was.

It was a quasi-scholastic piece about the validity of poll based claims.

Jeb Bush already demonstrated his lack of spine as Governor.

Terri Schiavo was unavailable for comment.

Enough Bushes, enough Clintons, enough Kennedys. America is not based on some privileged ruling class and it’s time to send those self-appointed elites packing.

We’ve had two failed Bush presidencies, you think “three’s the charm”?

No way, Hosea.

>He can’t rebuild the GOP without fighting back
fighting back?
These losers wouldn’t know fighting back if it bit them on the ass!
Name one of these clowns who went and attended one tea party protest (fighting back)
Just one.

Thank you. That proves that the Gipper didn't need Atwater to get himself elected in 1980.

I sympathize with your feelings. However, that in no way changes my observation that if the Democrats push through amnesty, the Republicans will need to field a candidate that is in some respect attractive to Hispanics. Hopefully, some real conservative will be able to do so. But even better, I hope we will be able to block amnesty.

This “honeymoon” should have been over already: Dems, particularly those remaining in the South, might just (prayerfully) start getting cold feet about “Guest Worker Shamnesty”.

GWB = pro amnesty, "see y'all at the signing!"

JEB = pro amnesty, said that the tone of the debate had been "hurtful" to him and his Mexican-born wife, Columba.

There you have the problem. Jeb Bush takes the issue personally, when he should be thinking less about his wife, and more about what is in the higher interest of this Republic.

Governor Jeb Bush is probably thinking that eight years of Obama disaster will be enough to clear the way for another Bush to get elected President. He is wrong.

Absolutely. I will never vote for another Bush again. Americans don't like monarchies and they will not be permitted to exist here.

Jeb Bush (although better than the other Bush's) is still a big government guy......

We need a guy that is closer to an anarchist than a big government proponent......

What are his proposals to “radically” change federal government?

He has some fine tune issues but little else.....

Until he is ready to fully and aggressively embrace the Fair Tax or something like it it's just rhetoric.....

8 years of Obama and there will be no more United States.

You're wrong - there already is no United States. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid destroyed it in 100 days.
