Obama will appoint a highly respected and well known jurist from the slightly left of center judicial philosophy for his first appointment.
He will save nominating leftist justices for his second term. His primary political instinct is to get reelected. To select a contraversial justice for his first appointment will give conservatives too much ammunition. Obama doesn’t want that.

Just look at his nominations for DHS and Health. They don't come any more loony left than that. Obama is every bit as evil as we thought he was going to be.

There's no reason to believe this megalomaniac sees any need to moderate himself in any way. He can do whatever he wants. He could get Bernardine Dohrn on the court right now if he wanted to.
