If the democrats achieve a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, then the system of checks and balances that allows our two-party system to protect the interests of all citizens begins to break down. The party in the majority need not listen to any voice other than their own .. and these are the voices that now speak alone in the halls of power.

I think it’s getting close to the time when a bit of “civil disobedience” is in order.
I think what comes out of our barrels will speak a little louder than the meek voices of what’s left of our ‘representatives’.
How will they collect the guns? I’d love to see that advertised in the newspaper “Gun collector needed, lifetime benefits and guaranteed lifetime position*....needed immediately...”
*New positions filled on a daily basis...
Are gun owners facing a perfect storm?
Those who try to take them away will face it.
We haven’t had a two party system for a long time. The Republicans have been intent over the years to expand the voter base and consequently have accepted increasingly socialist principles. We have essentially one big socialist Republicrat party. It is a false premise to believe Specter switched parties given we have a one party system.
CIFTA

Inter-American Convention Against Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms (CIFTA)
January 1, 1997
If the Dem’s with this power confirm the CIFTA treaty it will be the 2 nd shot heard around the world. It is clearly unconstitutional on it’s face.
But by what power did Obozo fire the President of General Motors? They have no respect for the rule of Law.
“Welcome to New Kenya (Africa U.S.A.) Where the law of the jungle has replaced the Law of the Land!”
I use that argument a lot. The gun grabbers have no answer.
More and more, “those people” make it clear that they do not believe the Constitution applies to them. What is worse, the press just cheers them on. A pox on all of ‘em.
“the system of checks and balances that allows our two-party system to protect the interests of all citizens begins to break down”
I disagree. They system of checks and balances does not begin to break down because the democrats have a filibuster proof majority. The filibuster proof majority exists because the system of checks and balances broke down a long time ago.
Government abandoned any respect for the Rule of Law, each branch of government only paid token respect to the rights of the other branches and none whatsoever to the individual person. The Courts aided and abetted the process by ruling in the government’s favor at every turn. Finally, the GOP abandoned any sort of allegiance to conservative principles when it gained power, and then promptly threw it away.
All of this played to the marxists and “big government crowd” which is exemplified by the democrat party. The GOP is merely the left over housebroken window dressing of a Republic. And they will be permitted to exist only as long as the marxist-democrats think it is necessary to keep up the fiction.

Steve Symms, Republican U.S. Senator from Idaho, said, “There are three ways to protect liberty: the ballot box, the jury box, and if necessary, the cartridge box. ...”

The Dems have to watch their backs. A lot of the so-called “blue-dog” Dems ceom from states and locales where an anti-gun vote is a ticket to political obscurity. I think even Pelosi, Obama, and Reid realize this.
But this is not the time to let our guard down. We will need money SOON to fight these people through the courts until we can get an administration and congress which once again respects the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, America and the American people.
Sounds like we just gonna have to lock horns and duke it out.
What they'll hear is a collective, "From our cold dead hands..."
