Alaska Governor Sarah Palin signed Senate Bill 89 which continues retirement benefits for members of the Alaska Territorial Guard (ATG) while visiting Haines, Alaska on April 29, 2009.

One can see Japan from Haines, Alaska!

I'll just bet Governor Sarah Palin road to the event on the "Road Machine" in her background.

Here's her other ride.

According to this calculator the distance is 3961 miles from Haines to Tokyo. You sure about seeing Japan from there?

“Here’s her other ride.”

Or not:

No, this is not Gov. Palin’s personal ride, as many have speculated. This widely-circulated photo of Palin leaning on a Harley is a publicity shot taken for the Elks Lodge in Palmer, Alaska. The Elks raffled off the Street Glide to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, and Sarah Palin was more than willing to help them out with their good works.

Riding season for motorcycles where she lives is awfully short, anyway. We do know, however, that the governor rides the family’s four-wheelers, and she says that she gets Todd’s “hand-me-down” snow machines when he gets new ones before each racing season begins.
