I will gladly move the clock forward by two months and eat humble pie and apologize to you with all due sincerity in order to make this thing NOT become a Pandemic. You want to be right, and I want you to be right! I have no desire to say I told you so, because that would mean thousands, tens of thousands, potentially millions of people may die. I don’t give a rat’s hiney about being RIGHT here. I am concerned about being RIGHT.
The problem is, 2 months from now, if it turns out I was right to be concerned, then we can’t change the clocks BACK so that people will behave differently and not contribute to the spread of this.
I am simply saying that IMO, it is better to be safe than sorry and laugh about it later, than to blow it off and regret it later - for one’s own sake, their family’s sake, and all the other poor saps who may be infected by EACH person who laughs it off.
Also, if you are disinfecting and buying hand sanitizer, then apparently you ARE taking this with due seriousness. So I don’t know why you would post as if you are not. All that does is empower other fence-sitters to NOT take it seriously. If it’s worth it to you to take care with your own life, why would you want to imply to ANYONE that they have no reason to be concerned - unless you just want to make sure you get all the hand sanitizer before they do.
(I have been on a work deadline until today, so today was my first opportunity to go shopping... No masks and no hand sanitizer at my local WalMart, and I don’t even live in a state with any reported cases.)
My big problem is the WHO which has been milking this thing for all its worth. OTOH the CDC has been a paragon of virtue by giving info without peddling panic.
I bought two boxes of masks on Sunday but had to go to 5 stores to get them. But I have read a few stories about masks lately and all of them slam their efficacy. Even the highly touted N95 and N99 masks were deemed insufficient.
Hand sanitizers I usually hate but found a great hand sanitizing foam made by Lysol [in the soap section]. Unlike others, it does not dry out my hands.
I agree...I think some on here are taking this too lightly. I live in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, and we already have one confirmed, and a few suspected cases.
The local media is playing it down, somewhat, and will not even say what area of the city that the woman lives in who has the flu.
And thanks to our moronic “President” for his take on this serious sitation tonight. I hope he is basking in his treatment by the “press”, who bows down to him. And a special thanks to the NYSlimes reporter, who asked the hard question...about how “enchanted” he feels, while our military is being thrown to the wolves under his administration.....
Disgusting.
God bless our country. I know He has a plan for us, but I’m not sure what it is at this point. Obama has the fate of my precious loved ones in his hands, and it scares me beyond words.
