A new Gallup Poll finds 51% of Americans in favor and 42% opposed to an investigation into the use of harsh interrogation techniques on terrorism suspects during the Bush administration. At the same time, 55% of Americans believe in retrospect that the use of the interrogation techniques was justified, while only 36% say it was not. Notably, a majority of those following the news about this matter "very closely" oppose an investigation and think the methods were justified.

Hell, for $100, you can waterboard me.

I never even THOUGHT about asking for money. I told the "waterboarding-is-torture" office liberal that yes I would volunteer, just to show her it's not, if she could find someone who actually knew how.

I agree, and we need a poll.

I want to know which of these pious liberals would oppose waterboarding terrorists who knew the location of their children who had been taken hostage and had resisted “other means” of obtaining the info.

Don't kid yourself, most of them would support waterboarding for far lesser crimes, like cutting down trees or writing something racist.

Ninety-nine percent of the liberals in Hollywood would support illegal wiretaps and waterboarding if it could lead to real breakthroughs against those who market pirated DVDs.

“So 55% support water-boarding al Qaeda, but 51% support show trials for Bush administration officials for water-boarding al Qaeda.

Makes perfect sense. Effing idiots.”

Not only are you spot-on, but they will keep on releasing sympathetic stories about the poor incident-causing men and re-polling until the numbers reverse and then blast front page headlines: Majority oppose Bush’s waterboarding . . .

Which is to say, the maroons prefer man-caused incidents of freeeeeeking terrorism to waterboarding, and, of course, Bush.

We are, indeed, living in interesting times.

If most Americans knew what escape and evasion training was like in the military they’d dismiss this whole waterboarding bit as a non-issue.

I know a couple of SEALS, and you are exactly right. Try telling the sniveling liberals and the press these facts and witness what stuck-on-stupid these crazed jackasses express. There is an agenda here, and that agenda has been decided by America’s enemies both domestic and foreign.

Damn right. When the muzzies quit attacking civilians, women, and children, we will quit waterboarding them.

It would be much much higher if they were to get some truth from the media. Out of the thousands of combatants put into custody, only a small minority where sent to GITMO. Out of the few hundred sent to GITMO, on 28 have had interrogation methods used on them that went beyond verbal questioning. And out of those 28, only 3 had been waterboarded. And from that water-boarding terrorist acts as big or bigger than 9/11 have been stopped.

Now take the poll....

Knowing the media and polls, that probably doesn’t include telling them that it saved LA.

To heck with the polls for the politicians. Just like the approval % of the bailouts - [2008 FR thread] Only 7% Support Bailouts of Markets
