Cautious optimism, and vigilance are the key here, IMHO.
As FDR said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”. Panic is NOT a good idea on ANYONE’s part — especially at this stage...
For those who are the ‘praying type’ and find themselves a bit unsettled right now — I have personally found Psalms to be particularly helpful in times of stress or worry...
[One other thing I’d like to share with my fellow FReepers: As for those who actually find themselves with worry so great that they can’t control their heart-rate and calm down, a call to your doctor, or a visit to the ER for a possible panic attack, heart attack, or stroke is NOT the WORST idea (especially if it’s just a phone call that helps you rule out things that require emergency medical attention (like a stroke or heart attack). Also, if you find yourself irrationally worried at this point, or become obsessed about this topic — also not a bad idea to go out and enjoy the spring weather, or just spend time with friends and family, watching a good movie (particularly a favorite comedy), or a variety of other things that get your mind OFF this topic for a while.]
Well put.
Thanks.
ALSO BREATHING 6-8 SECONDS IN AND 6-8 SECONDS OUT FOR 30-90 SECONDS WILL CALM YOU DOWN.
Doesn’t have to be deep . . . just slow. Changes the chemistry in your brain toward relaxation.
Relaxation and anxiety are opposites.
