“...I wish they would have shot more of the rioters...”
-
Rioters?
Yes, Mark, you know, you are absolutley right.
It happened on May 4th of 1970, and I remember it quite well.
Those protesting college students posed such a threat,
we should have just killed them all,
right then and right there,
and killed all of their parents,
and their dogs as well.
Just nip it in the bud, so to speak, and be done with it.
/sarcasm
Mark,
I personally trained with some of the members of the national guard unit involved;
they were from Wooster, Ohio, if I recall correctly,
many of them were just college students,
who ended up shooting and killing other college students,
and if it was acceptable here to call you a mofo bastard,
I would do it.
But it probably isn’t,
so I won’t.

As a college student at the time, I still remember our school being shut down and all of us were sent home early with the threat of more riots. Carried the record of “no grades given” for that quarter on my college transcripts my entire adult life. At the time, we were angered about the kids being killed. As an adult, I realized that the “troops” were kids too, put into a very difficult situation. It was just a tragedy.....

Yep, the buildings just lit themselves on fire. Spontaneous combustion as it were. You can watch someone torch buildings, putting more lives and property at stake, and giggle like a school girl, if that is your desire.

People attacking the Guard, people burning buildings are “Students”, like Rodney King was a “motorist”. When they are on the offense and active participants they are no longer mere students, but rioters.

My point is if you missed it was that the Guard troops were all ready on the edge, because of the Teamsters, and those who want to criticize them, are wrong.

I feel bad for all.

Bad situation. Outside people... and the innocent got killed and maimed.

Saf. Kent is a great town.
