There are so many rules in this country today that, because of the way they are enforced, accomplish nothing but the inconvenience of the good and law-abiding. It’s terrible.

The knee jerk reaction to an incident is to pass another law. Rarely do lawmakers look at the possibility that existing laws were broken.

Example: the current banking mess.
