Thanks, Fanfan.
A connection? Entirely possible, IMO.
I’d be more worried about person to person contact.
As a precautionary measure, Gov. Rick Perry today increased his request of antiviral medication to 25 percent (850,000 courses) of the Texas allotment from the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions (CDC) Strategic National Stockpile to be prepositioned in the state.

Human cases of swine influenza A (H1N1) virus infection have been identified in the United States. Human cases of swine influenza A (H1N1) virus infection also have been identified internationally. The current U.S. case count is provided below.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the infection and whether additional people have been infected with swine influenza viruses.
CDC is working very closely with officials in states where human cases of swine influenza A (H1N1) have been identified, as well as with health officials in Mexico, Canada and the World Health Organization. This includes deploying staff domestically and internationally to provide guidance and technical support. CDC has activated its Emergency Operations Center to coordinate this investigation.
Laboratory testing has found the swine influenza A (H1N1) virus susceptible to the prescription antiviral drugs oseltamivir and zanamivir and has issued interim guidance for the use of these drugs to treat and prevent infection with swine influenza viruses. CDC also has prepared interim guidance on how to care for people who are sick and interim guidance on the use of face masks in a community setting where spread of this swine flu virus has been detected. This is a rapidly evolving situation and CDC will provide new information as it becomes available.
I’m just asking anyone here. But I have a question.
Perry cries Succesion but then calls on the Federal Government (CDC) to help with TamaFlu. What gives?
Oh how I hate politicians...
We haven't seceded so we don't have our own DHS to fall back on in times of emergency. If we were our own country, we could buy Tamaflu from the supplier ourselves.
BTW: It’s secession

Yeah thanks That spell check thingy is something I should use more often.

I just noticed the disconnect.—
“secession” but hey Fed help us out.
It’s kind of strange Texas doesn’t already have a supply of anti-viral drugs. The Feds might be hoarding them?
I heard on WOAI this am we have 800K doses in state but Perry asked for 850K more.
April 6,
“Veratect reported local health officials declared a health alert due to a respiratory disease outbreak in La Gloria, Perote Municipality, Veracruz State, Mexico. Sources characterized the event as a “strange” outbreak of acute respiratory infection, which led to bronchial pneumonia in some pediatric cases. According to a local resident, symptoms included fever, severe cough, and large amounts of phlegm. Health officials recorded 400 cases that sought medical treatment in the last week in La Gloria, which has a population of 3,000; officials indicated that 60% of the towns population (approximately 1,800 cases) has been affected. No precise timeframe was provided, but sources reported that a local official had been seeking health assistance for the town since February.”
This could be the reasoning behind the request for additional courses.
Sounds like something out of a movie doesn’t it?
People either believing this is the *real deal* or thinking it’s just another scam by the Barry admin. Makes for a very dangerous situation.
Should we go out of our way to prepare or deny it’s happening and possibly make it worse?
Yeah? As they all head for Cancun?
