The passing of the environmental torch between the Bush and Obama administrations became ever more evident last week when EPA head Lisa Jackson announced that carbon dioxide is now an official pollutant. Not just any pollutant, mind you, but one that moves in the fast company of methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons and sulfur hexafluoride--all notoriously bad stuff.
For years, the Bush EPA refused to mount even a partial attack on carbon dioxide. In part, its opposition rested on the uncertain science about CO2's uncertain contribution to global warming. In part it rested on the view that the patchwork programs of the Clean Air Act (CAA) did not afford a sensible platform on which to launch such a huge and risky initiative.

CO2 is an important atmospheric gas that occurs naturally and these jackasses don’t know squat.
Jackasses is being far too kind
Yes I owe the animal jackass an apology for maligning their character by comparing them with these humans.
It's for the "greater good" (commie trash seem to love using those words) of the planet, you know.
Shh, don’t say anything, it’s my day to breath!
Since all humans exhale CO2 how about if the EPA turds and the environmentalists all permanently seal their mouths and and nasal orifices and help be a part of the solution.
What next, regulating oxygen as a pollutant???
Perhaps nitrogen. Followed by hydrogen, top soil, sea water, and wood.
Only a President of a BANANA REPUBLIC woul believe this “pollution” crap from the EPA.
Any Congress dumass that supports this is Doomed....he/she is leaving DC in an EPA test tube after Voters get thru with ‘em.
If CO2 is a contaminant, why didn;t the EPA ban all carbinated drinks?
If greenhouse gases are bad for you, why didn’t the EPA list the most prevalent greenhouse gas as dangerous—water vapor—95% of the greenhouse gases.
We need to laugh these people out of town and anyone who agrees with them.
Junk science laughs at them.
True story:
Years ago I used to date the daughter of an EPA scientist. At that time, in East Dallas, there was a lead smelter that became a hot political issue, but no one could figure out how to shut down a business that provided jobs for many people with no marketable skills that had been there for decades.
Then the EPA stepped in, conducted some tests and declared that the smelter was responsible for widespread lead contamination in an area of 6 square blocks or better. So, for weeks, there was a HazMat team scraping up the top layer of soil to “clean up” east Dallas.
Only it was all based on fraudulent data. Dallas has many earth drainage ditches (IOW, not concrete) that collect the runoff from streets and direct the water into the storm drain system. When it rains, all the lead deposits from leaded gas (this was around the time that unleaded gas was being introduced and lead was still prevalent) plus oil deposits on the roads wash off into these drainage ditches. So, guess where the EPA chose to take its soil samples?? From the top soil of the residents of those 6 square blocks around the smelter?? Noooooooooo, they couldn’t guarantee getting the results they wanted!! They took their soil samples from the drainage ditches to get the results they wanted to make the lead smelter a political issue.
So, the taxpayers paid a huge sum of money for a political sham as well as the workers from the smelter who lost their jobs as the result of the “lead contamination”.
This was all driven by . . . . . . . Democrat politicians, by the way.
Surprised?? This is why I trust NOTHING from the EPA.
Actually my thought is that they should wrap their heads in plastic bags for the 24 hours. At least that way any sh*t they talk will already be placed in the proper recepticle!!
The EPA needs to have absolute power over all human activity—just in case the Treasury Secretary’s absolute power over all human activity turns out not to be enough.
