MEMPHIS, April 20, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A counselor at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Memphis, TN was caught on hidden camera coaching a 14-year-old girl to lie to a judge so he would not find out about her 31-year-old boyfriend; the girl could then obtain a waiver for an abortion without her parents' knowledge.
This is the sixth Planned Parenthood (PP) clinic implicated in a developing multi-state child abuse scandal, involving the deliberate suppression of evidence of statutory rape by PP employees.
Lila Rose, a 20-year-old UCLA student and president of the nonprofit Live Action, entered Planned Parenthood's Memphis Health Center undercover and told a counselor that she was 14-years-old, pregnant by her 31-year-old "boyfriend", and needed a secret abortion so her parents would not find out about her sexual relationship with the older man. Tennessee Code 37-1-605 requires health professionals to report suspected cases of sexual abuse of minors to law enforcement immediately.
The Planned Parenthood counselor tells Rose on camera, "Look, if we keep this conversation I'm gonna have to talk to my manager and yeah, [your boyfriend]'s gonna get in trouble," but promises, "I'm not gonna tell anybody, ok?" She adds, "And please don't say that I told you this."
When Rose tells the counselor she thinks her boyfriend will get in trouble if her parents find out, the counselor advises Rose to lie about the man's age when speaking to a judge in order to obtain a bypass of Tennessee's parental consent law for abortion: "Don't mention it. Just say you have a boyfriend 17 years old...whatever."
The new video marks the fifth in Live Action's "Mona Lisa Project," a nationwide undercover investigation that documents Planned Parenthood's repeated noncompliance with state mandatory reporting laws for sexual abuse of minors. Tennessee is the third state to be implicated in the controversy, along with Arizona and Indiana.
"This is the sixth clinic we have recorded that manipulates the law and covers up sexual abuse. Planned Parenthood's abortion-first mentality makes it operate as an advocate for terrible crimes against children," Rose said about the video. "What more do authorities need to see before holding this organization accountable for its institutionalized indifference to statutory rape and sexual abuse of children?"

First of all, how could a 20 year old (”Lila Rose, a 20-year-old UCLA student”) be mistaken for a 14 year old (must have been fresh-faced). Second, if this abortionist clinic’s person had reported this as a crime (”Tennessee Code 37-1-605 requires health professionals to report suspected cases of sexual abuse of minors to law enforcement immediately”) she/he would be liable for some sort of prosecution for reporting a “false incident” Also, I don’t believe that an abortion “couselor” is a “health professional” and would not be subject to this law. As much as I abhor abortion, the “14” year old girl lied. I also abhor this form of entrapment. A 20 year old plant lies about her age, lies about pregnancy, lies about the boyfriend. Three wrongs do not make a right.
I believe Lila is a Filipina ,, my wifes younger sister (also Filipina) is 31 but could pass for 16 , in fact as a schoolteacher she is sometimes mistaken for a student by students that don’t know her , she is only about 95 lbs.
The PP saleswoman/counselor is indeed subject to the statuatory rape reporting laws. Grow up ,, playing a role to gather evidence is done ALL THE TIME ,, nothing at all wrong with it if the role player doesn’t push the person being tested in the direction they want for a conviction... Lila played it absolutely straight in all the videos I’ve seen them release. Lila is doing Gods work.

Having said that, I don’t see how a 20 year-old woman could pass for 14, althought the REVERSE may happen.
Worked pretty well on “To Catch a Predator.” In the show they didn’t get as much face to face time as this, but I’m sure the principle still holds. People out of whack morally will do just about anything to believe what they want.
If PP was on the up and up they would tell the girl that what the "boyfriend" did was rape. Further, the PP worker is supposed to be an adult and know the difference between right and wrong and should've called the police; its the law. If they weren't exploiting children there would be no need for these types of operations. In no way did Lila break any law.
Planned Parenthood was informed of what appeared to be a CRIME, their LEGAL OBLIGATION at that point was to report the crime, instead they advised covering up the crime. So yes a law WAS BROKEN because their obligation is to report SUSPECTED CRIMES, they did not do that.
Just out of curiosity, in what circumstances do you approve of killing babies?
You’re more bothered by her pretending to be 14 than you are about them breaking the law by not reporting a suspected case of child sexual abuse? Do you generally disapprove of child molestation as much as you generally disapprove of abortion?
