Cheney Calls for Legal Memos to be Declassified
Drudge Report ^ | April 20, 2009 | Drudge Report

In a two part interview airing tonight and tomorrow night on FOX News Channel’s Hannity (9-10PM ET), former Vice President Dick Cheney shared his thoughts on the CIA memos that were recently declassified and also revealed his request to the CIA to declassify additional memos that confirm the success of the Bush administration’s interrogation tactics:

CHENEY:

“One of the things that I find a little bit disturbing about this recent disclosure is they put out the legal memos, the memos that the CIA got from the Office of Legal Counsel, but they didn't put out the memos that showed the success of the effort. And there are reports that show specifically what we gained as a result of this activity. They have not been declassified.”

“Good we have a patriot like Cheny...and Jorge Bush will simply go along with the new adminstration. Sigh...”

I really wonder if Bush is even paying any attention to what is going on.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity that President Obama’s handshake with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez “was not helpful” and could lead “foes” of the U.S. to “think they’re dealing with a weak president.”

“I find disturbing is the extent to which he has gone to Europe, for example, and seemed to apologize profusely in Europe, and then to Mexico, and apologize there, and so forth,” Cheney told Hannity.

“And I think you have to be very careful. The world outside there, both our friends and our foes, will be quick to take advantage of a situation if they think they’re dealing with a weak president or one who is not going to stand up and aggressively defend America’s interests.”

Dear Lord, I read those memos and I do, of course, have an opinion.

First, I must conclude that whoever released them had some intent to make the Bush administration look bad. Well I would softly suggest that those memos, were anybody to really READ the things, hardly make the Bush admin look bad. In fact, I was shocked. Those memos make the Bush admin look lunch a bunch of weinies, in fact.

Those memos were put out there to do what the Dems do best and for what the pubs always seem to be helpless, which is to get short sound and sight bytes out there so that the ladies in the beauty parlor hear “torture”, “CIA”, “Bush admin” and put the dryer back on their heads with a harumph. They suspected that evil Cheney and Bush were nasty fellows and this proves it.

Nobody, especially the ladies in the beauty parlor, actually READS that sort of stuff. It’s part of the plan and like last week’s DHS’ report, the intent was to release the sound byte of “McVeigh” and “Rightwing” so the ladies at the beauty parlor knew right along that the rightwingers with their gun nuts and ex-military were dangerous, indeed the ladies at the beauty parlor knew this right along and this report, from the DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, no less, proves it, so they harumph.

Those memos detail that the damn wall used to receive those terrorists thrown up against it must be FLEXIBLE...even detailing how much “give” the thing must have. The memos detail when doctors should be present, how long sleep must be deprived....all sorts of thing down to details that make me roll my eyes to heaven. God please if I ever get caught in an act of terrorism let it be in America as they are positively NICE to terrorists.

All the while the pubs are in the tanning booth, they never effectively fight back against this most efficient form of propaganda. Mostly pubs are smart and don’t usually fall for two, three or four word sound bytes. But they are also in the tanning booths, hobnobbing with their friends across the aisle, getting fingernails polished.

They should all be in a huddle like any good opposition team. They should be studying the enemy and counter-attacking.

But the head hairs must all remain in their appointed places, the tans must not fade, the friends across the aisle must not be angered and the DC cocktail circuit invites should continue to fill the mailboxes.

It’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

It doesn't matter now because all Obama will do is release info he thinks will help his permanent campaign.

Did you see Gen. Hayward fighting back yesterday on FNS? That was all I needed to see. Check the transcript if you didn’t catch it. This administration is VERY, VERY dangerous.

we have memos that show that Terror attacks were thwarted because of interrogation techniques that Obama has now not only compromised by ended.

That can't be. Those memos must be made up. Hollywood and the always reliable MSM tells me that you don't get reliable information from torture - the information is always wrong. I have to believe them over VP Cheney.

You weren't really going to demand a /sarc tag, were you?

The cheap labor factor is huge. To me it’s greed on crack. Has the price of a new house gone down over the last ~15 years? I haven’t seen it, yet many, many illegals build them - the business owners are the greedy pigs.

I’m with you though - what’s really behind the illegal alien love? I hope DC is against this love.

It was all I needed too. You’d think even Dems would be questioning this when Bambi’s own CIA head didn’t want these released.

Hee.. Ole “Stand-Up” Joe knows Cheney would've told him to f- himself. No one would believe Biden except for Megan McCain, perhaps.
