I'm sorry ... for an event this important ... work is NOT an excuse ... that IS part of the problem ... yes we conservatives usually have jobs to go to ... far less now however. BUT this was a time that work should have been on the back burner. If you are NOT willing to sacrifice just ONE day of work for something this important then you ARE part of the problem ... IMO
Not everyone has time off or paid time off or even a boss that is decent. With tough times, many are just looking for a reason to “can” a person so try not to be so harsh.
I am a full-time college student and am wrapping up my semester. I wanted to go to the tea party desperately but it conflicted with my physics class and I can’t miss THAT class as I’m not smart enough. Also, we have labs every class and if you miss the lab, you can’t make it up.
If you don’t have such pressures, good for you. If they had done it on a Saturday, I could’ve made it but nobody can make every event every time. People do have children, sick parents, etc. etc. Get real, in other words.
I posted, on the windows of my little dry-cleaning shop, that I would be closed all day on April 15. Took myself and three others to Lansing (MI), where we were joined by roughly 5,000 like-minded people. What a Hoot!
The issue you two are addressing is one that our side never hits hard, ever. We should be incredibly enraged and justifiably bitter that while we work, the country gets stolen from us by freeloaders who don’t work, who therefore have the time to be politically active (generally funded by government programs or leftist contribution via a government program). You can say all you want, but someone who works their ass off all day doesn’t always have the time/energy to root out what’s going on. Thus, there is a huge advantage being taken by our opposition, who is stealing from us and undermining the country while we pay for everything. When the time comes to rile our side to the appropriate measures we’ll likely have to take, this must be pushed hard.
Missing work is NO excuse for failing to do some serious heavy lifting at this most portentous moment in our National History.
“Don't Tread On Me” Indeed !!!
Opinion duly noted...
I'm self-employed, can't call in sick. I've played music for a N. Cal chapter of ECV before. Boy, you guys sure know how to get drunk. Downeyville, anyone?
