Arlen Specter is getting by with a little help from his Senate friends.
The five-term Pennsylvania Republican, who faces a tough primary challenge from conservative former Rep. Patrick J. Toomey, received donations from 10 Republican senators in the first three months of this year.
The pro-Specter senators, who donated from either their candidate committees or their leadership PACs, include Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky; John Cornyn of Texas, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee; and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, the Senate GOP Conference chairman.
Specter's campaign report also showed that he received funds from committees linked to Richard C. Shelby of Alabama; Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson of Georgia; Bob Corker of Tennessee; Michael D. Crapo of Idaho; and George V. Voinovich of Ohio, who's not seeking re-election next year.
Orrin Hatch of Utah gave to Specter from both his campaign committee, Hatch Election Committee, and his leadership PAC, OrrinPAC.

DONATE TO PAT TOOMEY: All!
I’m with you on this.......just DAMN!
Republican Party called me yesterday for a donation. I told them that I was renouncing my membership in the republican party because of their support for Arlen Specter. Told ‘em that until they started supporting conservative candidates, they would NEVER regain power again.
You heard that too? Sounded good. How do you feel about Inhofe now wanting to introduce the Milage Tax? I am so mad at him for this, he has now lost my respect.
It’s time to stop dreaming and time to realize the current Republican party is not a home for conservatives and it won’t be. Those that cry “Let’s take the party back” are dreaming. This proves it - these Senators not only are comfortable with liberals like Specter - they support him financially!!! Conservative Party in 2012 - go Sarah!!!!!
I sent him an email about this and haven’t received an answer, I guess I never will. They, all of them, Republicans and Democrats better start listening to the people or they are going to reap their own personal financial whirlwind! As in no job no more!
“Millions of us currently have NO ONE in Washington representing us.”
Sadly true! The very idea that they should contribute to one another because we aren’t contributing to them! It stinks to high heaven! I’m so mad and I’m running out of exclamation marks.
No, not RINOS; they’re trying to keep this miserable POS under control until the election is a lot closer.
Think of the damage he could do in the next eighteen months or so!
He’s already gotten one very important vote right - the vote on “Card Check - and these contributions could well be the payoff for that.
Millions of us currently have NO ONE in Washington representing us.
Exactly right. Time to vote them all out. At least with a bunch of rookies, it will slow them down for a while until they figure out how to conspire against us as well.
Then Lucas voted for the Voluntary (Mandatory) Service Camps aka brownshirt camps.
I am stunned. Mary Fallin is the only one that has kept her hands clean on all of this. Go Mary.
